I think KQ has hired Kivuitu to 'manage' the process!

Results from the rights issue will now be announced on June 6, the same day that KQ is expected to release its full year ending march.

@Mastermind, KQ website has a calendar showing 14 June 2012. N'way, if they announce earlier it will be better

If this is the case, KQ has exceeded my expectation.

... and it could further exceed our expectations

The same source also said that the airline was close to concluding a deal with an international investment group but found itself out of time vis a vis the initially set announcement date of 30th May

Isn't that a mockery of the 'closing' date for submission of applications? Why not then just have an open-ended Offer to accept applications until the entire amount is raised?

77% subscription & only because GoK is taking 28% (up from 23%). Something stinks.

I called it rights issue from hell some time back when I was caught offguard after trying to trade it at 17/- this year. I can see the small hell is now a big hell. I thought the delay was due to some international investors last minute payments... This is one murky rights issue.
In the meantime read about Qantas, which said its profits will slide by 90% as the airline industry continues to bleed this year. Its stock has been duly hammered. Back in March 2012, IATA warned that many airlines could go bust by Q4 2012 due to high fuel bills & currency volatility. I'm sure KQ is not special & the same will bite hard on their revenues. The effect of the rights dilution and revenue shrinkage will hammer this stock below 10/-. Don't forget that Virgin has also pulled out of KE citing high fuel costs, taxes & drop in passenger numbers.

Gok and KLM applied for all their rights. Wanjiku dint. Dilution of wanjiku is the outcome. Nothing stinking in that!

Shame on you Shame on you Shame on you Shame on you You are the kind of people we don't want talking about our KQ stock. Inshallah we will see 25 by the end of the year.
