If i start with t.bond of 50 k and i want to be adding 50k every now and then, what im supposed to do?
Morning...you just reapply during every auction depending on the T bill you want...forms are available online at cbk site make sure you drop them at the correct tender box hapo CBK
i mean t.bond not t.bill.
You have two options.
Apply for subsequent bond offers at CBK, primary market.
For example you buy a 5 year bond in a certain month then several months later buy a 10 year bond on offer then (or whichever other is on offer).
Buy an existing bond in secondary market.
For example buy a 5 year bond in a certain month then several months later return to secondary market to buy the same 5 year bond (or any other that is made available for purchase).
What are the chances of getting the Infrastructure Bond in the secondary market?
Do u know the of the next release of IFB?
You have my email...il get you the IFBs...
Thanks.
I have some maturing cash in October.
@maka, umetuma something to my inbox?
In today's paper I can see 5 yr and 20 yr treasury bonds?
Any news about IFB?

Remember there is some lead time between applying for the account and it being opened. So factor that in your plans. If you plan to start buying in Jan, I suggest you apply by Nov.

I think the 20 yr paper is fixed at 14%, the 5 year paper will fetch 15%, give or take.

My lady at CBK told me that if it takes more than 14 days to get a CDS account then its your commercial bank who is playing the delay tactics!
Big banks/tier-1 are notorius for doing that especially if you have a monied account with them.
Want to open a CDS account chap chap? Move your cash (if above 1 million) from tier-1 to KWFT or Faulu temporarily then wire them back to tier-1 or CBK direct after getting CDS account and/or after successfully bidding the bills/bonds.
Now you know.

I am not saying that you buy the bonds through your commercial banks.
What I say is that the CBK will you to have a commercial bank account in order to do the bills/bonds.
Now your bank will need to do some checking and stamping some forms from CBK, and its at that point when they take their sweet time...with baseless excuses, sijui ohhh our system with CBK is down, commercial director is in Juba, your account has an error which needs to be corrected, sujui be patient youngman, eti patience pays....na saa hiyo the bond market is already closed.
