mwanahisa, but the market isn't rational in the short term, is it? It is an impossibility to 'predict' prices of securities in the short term GOD BLESS YOUR LIFE

By the way having sold off a large chunk of my stake in KPLC pre-split, I would be more than happy if KPLC share price fell to 19. But I am realistic enough to know that's the stuff dreams are made of.

There is always an element of risk in any "prediction". That's why we are taking bets on this given that the outcome is not fully certain. I however think "our" side has a greater chance of winning the bet. If I lose, I will not begrudge YBC his "success" but I am sure I will make back my money by BUYING BIG if KPLC's price hits his prediction.

Excellently put, brother. I think most people took offence with yaser because he came out too strong. He was almost ordering guys to sell their shares. But it's looking like KCB all over again. yaser, can you tell us how you arrived at the figure of 17 as KPLC's value? GOD BLESS YOUR LIFE

Faida issued a Research Report in Sep 2010... And the first table at the beginning of the document has an error/omission... I stopped right there! Bure kabisa! Greedy when others are fearful. Very fearful when others are greedy - to paraphrase Warren Buffett

The 23 bob a share resisting level is working real. Now the question should be; what happens tommorrow when we start buying the rights??? African parents don't know how to say sorry.. the closest you will get to a sorry is a 'have you eaten'

I know!!! and what price will the rights be at???? this is becoming nerve racking. there is a price i can see tomorrow and just pull the trigger without thinking, due to my expectations. Put a purchase @21.5/- Whats your rationale? at 21.5, u break even at 22.5. this is 3 bob more than 19.5. so its like buying the rights at 2.5bob, breaking at 22.5 as well. ( coz commission on rights is almost negligible, u break even at roughly 2.1% for selling only) The investor's chief problem - and even his worst enemy - is likely to be himself

These rights will be so hot and I can bet they'll be way oversubscribed and we all know institutions have a better chance of scooping over the LI's which is where I fall. So why waste my time? BBI will solve it :)

hi guys. just a query-does one have to pay before applying for rights(those selling at the market) at the broker or one pays after allocation of rights? ...things fall apart...the centre cannot hold..mere anarchy is loosed upon the world...w b yeats

Shares started trading at 23/- which implies a 3.50 premium but I expect a lower premium once GoK starts selling... That said, my broker says foreign investors are watching & waiting... They want to buy a single block for easier administration... Greedy when others are fearful. Very fearful when others are greedy - to paraphrase Warren Buffett

IMHO, the only rights that will be up for grabs are for the Retail LIs, and these are very negligible. Knowing Mbaru for a while, i tell you this stock is one to watch! @SufficientlyP

Just called my broker tells me bids are for 1.6 and asking is is 5 and no trade at all so we might need to wait for a little while. i think the price might be affected when gok put their rights in the market ata very low price, that might determine the share price as well but looking at the supply today of kplc shares i don't think this share will go lower than it already went.
