how? I doubt Kenya Power benefits from any adjustment in tariffs cos of forex & oil price adjustments...i thought they had a base tariff @ which they sell their units...the tariff adjustment due to forex & oil price was just mearnt to protect their margins insert Kengen...anyways when prices go up, dont people consume less?

KPLC does not benefit from forex or fuel adjustments since these are pass-through costs.

Actually the tariff review was suspended indefinitely, pending a review by ERC in six months from july 2012.

I noted this recurring statement.... How did they arrive at this year's revenue from the unreleased results:

"The Treasury expects Kenya Power to grow its revenues to Sh113.7 billion in the year to June 2013 from this year’s Sh86.6 billion, reflecting an increase of 31 per cent."
The investor's chief problem - and even his worst enemy - is likely to be himself

Are you suggesting KPLC "stocks" power?
The only scenario where KPLC doesn't sell power it receives from KenGen is when it is stolen [very rampant in the slums] or due to "distribution losses"

How is this possible if the demand for power currently exceeds supply? In fact there was load shedding last year but there are times when KPLC can have excess power i.e when there is low demand i.e economy not doing well hence businesses and individuals are not consuming power as they are suppose to...in that scenario...KPLC has to pay Kengen even if they're not selling the excess power!

Are you an "insider" and even if so the tarrifs have to be passed by Parliament.
