We have got the the 10 billion Loss before tax that I predicted. It has actually come in at 10.8 Billion, no doubt t he biggest loss ever by a listed firm in Eastern Africa. Now, let's see whether the 2nd part of my prediction of a share price of 6-7 shillings will come to pass within the next 12 months. It's instructive that in an unprecedented gesture, the full year statement includes an extract of the Auditors Report. The opinion of the auditors has some curious and interesting wording about the summary statements conforming in all material respects to the group financial statements. I did not see the words "true and fair"mwanahisa wrote:KQ issued a profit warning on 5th November 2012.
The results will be dire. There is no way that the H1 PBT loss of 6.59 Billion can translate into anything other than a bigger loss.
I used to be a KQ enthusiast but bailed out when it became clear that Mgt were hellbent on destroying shareholder value with an ill conceived expansion plan that continues to this day.
If we hit a possible 10 billion shillings PBT loss on Friday, this share could well hit the Kshs 6-7 lows that it used to trade at around the turn of the millenium. Maybe just maybe there will be long term value then. At any rate, below 10/=, it will start to attract speculative day trades but at the moment, its outlook remains real bleak!!!

I think the reason why "true and fair" is missing is because the summary does not have all the disclosures. '......to the acknowledgment of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ; 3 In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.' Colossians 2:2-3

I have my life savings in this counter. I have analysed the future and it is terribly bright. I suggest that wazua members with longterm cash board this counter. A goldrush beckons HF 90,000 ABP 3.83; KQ 414,100 ABP 7.92; MTN 23,800 ABP 6.45

#KenyaAirways was trading at >Ksh52 when this thread begun. Disregarding share price, it's prudent to note things are more dire now for #KenyaAirways compared to 3 years back. As an investment..the share is toxic.. As a gamble play for speculators..the share is ripe for fun depending on depth of pocket and how well you understand #MomentumInvesting ..something akin to what Naushad Meralli did with #UchumiLtd Enjoy. ..Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven...Matt5:16 - 1769 Oxford King James Bible 'Authorized Version

A negative and a positive - "terribly bright". Is it bright in a good way(very bright) or a bad way (not bright)

KQ's ambitions in havin over 100 aircraft in next few years is solid. Even Embraer have seen this and are constructin a facility for assembly in Kenya as communicated by Embraer CEO this year. IFC & moreso Embraer cannot be pumping cash into a sinking ship. Analysis has been done. Watch this space HF 90,000 ABP 3.83; KQ 414,100 ABP 7.92; MTN 23,800 ABP 6.45

@obiero. no worries. that's all nice, I think what this company needs is new management. a thought crossed my mind, kenya is set to start pumping oil next year. gava owns nearly 30% of kq. oil is one the biggest and most threatening expenditures to profit margins. if kq could get this fuel at a subsidized price.. or some gava arrangement...ka ching. but bad management a stumbling block The investor's chief problem - and even his worst enemy - is likely to be himself

Watu wa 7 bob wako wapi???? Anywho, I belatedly come out to admit that indeed I was hyping the demand and/or hold positions on KQ by stating that losses would not be steep. I have come out to clear my conscience.. Na munisamehe HF 90,000 ABP 3.83; KQ 414,100 ABP 7.92; MTN 23,800 ABP 6.45
