Some of these things, probably most things can't be well understood if one looks at them with their clothes on. There's something very oppressive about clothes. For example, H.D. Thoreau warns one about changing the clothes one wears without carefully considering the matter. And I can imagine how keeping his clothes while in Walden, drove him to the grave. If only he could take off his clothes and live naked! Then he'd put things into perspective and perhaps live to be very old. Or even not die at all.

@symbols, as I was looking at myself on the mirror, a question popped into my head, 'why do we all look different?' The answer that came was, 'because of the different ideas that form us'. But why are ideas different? It all goes up to why people wear clothes. If all were naked, then we'd all look the same. Whatever made Adam to cover himself with twigs? An emotion of guilt? Before, I have reason to believe, he met everything with equanimity.

@Chief Guest, Alexander the Great couldn't conquer the naked philosophers of India. Instead they conquered him and his 'Western philosophy'. The stoics were heavily influenced by them. So the power of nakedness is immense.
