Now you have 65K left. This is a must every month Contingencies?? Sacco?? Relatives?? Savings??? In my opinion, 300K net can only afford you fitting life in Kile/Kilimani if you live in your own house. Otherwise you will need to change lanes and do with langatas/South B/C/Ruakas/Burus etc 300K gross peeps living in Kile,Kilimani will really struggle and wont save or repay loans. Unless you and wife earn that much ie 600K combined.Else, move to Syokimau,SouthC,LA,Rongai etc. Formally employed people often live their employers' dream & forget about their own.

Now you have 92.5K left. if you remove 32.5K for mzee's co-curricula activities (landing once per week, funerals, drinks etc), you still have 60K which is a decent percentage of 20% of your net If Obiero did it, Who Am I?

The caveat here is where you want to stay and where you want to take your kids to school. In some estates, with 300K pm, you will be the king, but in others, that will be somebody's rent. I barely spend more than 3k on power (5 screens on majority of the day and night, fridge on, and lights on at night for 7 hrs a night)

Salary wise very very few people earn more than 100K gross. Kenyan road are still jammed with cars and not all these car owners have known businesses. So If you are earning over 100K count yourself lucky . Live your life within the 100k limit don't live other people's life. You will only lose it if you want to live a celebrity life punda amecheka
