[quote=eco]We are living in the digital age, where every parcel of land should be digitized with all it's entitlements, and database linked from Ardhi House to all City/Municipal/town Councils Lands and Planning Departments. The era of allocating and selling land to more than two people, selling disputed land should be long gone.

All what has happened is a result of corruption and fraud. If we can fight fraud in Kenya we will safe others from similar calamity. My sympathy to the affected families, it will take years to recover the loss. Now as an investor in NSE, I wonder how this 'national' calamity is going to affect my trades, are we going to see more 'syokimau' victims dispose of their stocks at NSE in order to raise money for rent now that their status have been degraded back to being tenants? Sorry for the blantness of my post but its a man eat man society

With all due respect, this would not have helped the buyers in Syokimau. Most of them must have followed this process and still wound up with flattened houses.
How do you beat two versions of the map for your area? You would be no wiser after conducting the search.
I'm also sure some people took loan from banks to develop these properties -Arent bank lawyers also required to do some form of due diligence before effecting the charges on these properties?

Surely, the whole system is murky. Two maps from the same government. The lawyers are also found in this dirty atmosphere; and they aren't that clean...can be compromised!!!!Who do you believe or rely on....We need DIVINE intervention!!!

HEARD SOME ARGUMENT THAT THE CABINET DECISION TO DEMOLISH HOUSES IN SYOKIMAU WAS INFORMED BY THE SECURITY THREAT THAT LIVING SO CLOSE TO THE AIRPORT POSES. ALSHABAAB MEN COULD BE HIDING IN THOSE HOUSES READY TO BRING DOWN PLANES. COULD THESE BE TRUE?

Mutito MP Kiema Kilonzo accused the government of applying the law selectively, citing buildings he said were built irregularly along Mombasa road by billionaires but secured protection from the State.

“Are there two sets of the law? One for the poor and one for the rich?” the MP posed.

Just the other day multinationals build buildings illegally along Mombasa road…the government led by the Prime Minister met the billionaires and agreed they are going to spare the multinationals,” he said.

“...yet here we have poor people with legal documents approved by City commission, their property is being destroyed and the government has not even had a courtesy meeting with them just as it had with the billionaires in the PM’s office over tea and champagne , shame on you…”he said.

True we have a problem with Al Shabaab, but will it be an excuse of impunity and terrorising of innocent Kenyans? Who are the Kenya Armed Forces in Somalia fighting for if not for law abiding, peace loving citizens, working hard, saving and investing thier money in Kenya? This is impunity in the name of national security. Again!!

Demolitions to Spread Over Kenya
"The next round of demolitions is expected to take place around Moi Airbase in Eastleigh, around Wilson Airport along Langata road, and then around Mombasa International airport and airstrips countrywide. The KAA will also demolish illegal structures that have been erected on its land around JKIA."
