When i was in campus, a few friends were buying maize and transporting it to S.Sudan, so i decided why not try out with them? Due to the fear i had on my pops esp when it came to money, i decided why not go to mum and ask her for some loan, she decided to borrow 100k from her chama after promising that i would refund the money during the course of the year, well...I started by going to Ukambani, bought maize and beans from farmers who were willing to sell(many dont have a way to store the grains esp after a bumper harvest)At times I bought a 90kg sack of maize at 500/-. Note: when there's alot of rain its Ukambani that benefits the most, the well known bread baskets usually don't do well in these times.
I refunded the money by the end of the year as promised and did this for 2 years with time including wheat and rice. By the age of 25 1M bob did not look like a big thing
