Last week, Qatar Airways announced a loss of $639 million. This was significantly higher than its loss of $69 million last year. Comparatively, KQ posted losses of $75 million for 2018, compared with $64 million in 2017.

And the Qatar - as a very wealthy country - can afford losses we cannot even imagine.
GDP is 2x Kenya.

It had a surplus in 2018. Kenya had a deficit.
