Cut KQ some slack, worse could happen
FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 27 2019

Last week, Qatar Airways announced a loss of $639 million. This was significantly higher than its loss of $69 million last year. Comparatively, KQ posted losses of $75 million for 2018, compared with $64 million in 2017.

Qatar had lots of issues with the politics of the GCC. Huge numbers of forced cancellations when GCC suspended/cancelled flights to/from Qatar.

And the Qatar - as a very wealthy country - can afford losses we cannot even imagine.
GDP is 2x Kenya.
GDP per capita is 40x Kenya
It had a surplus in 2018. Kenya had a deficit.
