[quote=Uram]Morocco will not host the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations because of its fears over the Ebola outbreak elsewhere on the continent, the Confederation of African Football (Caf) has confirmed.
Caf expelled Morocco, who would have qualified as hosts, from the finals.
It did not announce a new venue for the tournament, due to take place from 17 January to 8 February.
But BBC Sport understands three nations have expressed an interest and the new host will be confirmed on Wednesday.
Morocco had been given until Saturday to make a final decision on whether or not it would host the tournament.
It had asked to postpone the competition until 2016.
Egypt has stated it will not host the tournament for "economic and political reasons", while 2013 and 2008 hosts South Africa and Ghana have also ruled themselves out of contention.

To be held in QATAR!!!

I'd rather they cancel it altogether than host it in another continent, problem is corrupt CAF are only eyeing the sponsorship cash

That Equatorial Guinea can host a tournament of this magnitude at short notice and Kenya likely cannot host a tournament for another 5 years is amazing. This is the main stadium in Equatorial Guinea

Oh please! You claim to be a soccer pro but don't even know that 2012 edition of the Africa Cup of Nations was co-hosted in Equatorial Guinea and it was a natural consideration for this fallback for obvious reasons. This country was informed of its 2012 successful bid in September 2006!!

From the economic front, please also be informed Equitorial Guinea is enjoying new found oil wealth. With corruption running amok, President Obiang has for long held that oil revenues are a state secret and used this tournament to blind the populace.

Peace!

For the CECAFA region, Uganda need a draw against Guinea away to qualify but are 1 nil down in the first half despite packing a Bugunda bus in front of their post.

Nigeria v South Africa should also be an interesting fixture despite SA being through already.

Disastrous for Uganda. Central defender blatantly goes for the striker instead of the ball, school boy error .Red card and penalty. Seidouba makes it 2-0.

I know that the 2012 AFCON was co-hosted where did you get the impression that I did not?

We are discussing Equatorial Guinea being able to host AFCON 2015 at short notice and you are here still talking about 2012?

I am not sure what your point about Obiang and corruption is. A Kenyan accusing Obiang of coprruption is a classic case of the pot and the kettle.

All I am saying is that Kenya is a joke country when it comes to hosting or bidding. Look at the shambolic hosting of the 2013 CECAFA cup where even Zanzibar vowed never to visit Kenya again.

Zanzibar !!

None of that has anything to do with oil wealth. In any case there are numerous countries that have succesfully hosted AFCON without oil wealth.

Lets just admit that Kenya is pathetic at these things. The first step towards solving a problem is to admit that we have a problem.

Our sports minister just wasted time and money on a useless bid for AFCON 2017 that had a snowballs chance in hell. Kenya is just pathetic. Lets admit we have a problem then work on the solution.

Guinea 2 - Uganda 0. Very nice television production from Morocco where this game was played. Ghana also through. Leading Togo 3-1 at home last I checked with 10min to play. Uganda's senior players let them down. From the dismissed captain to a selfish Massa upfront. Guinea had a younger, fresher and more technically skilled squad.

The overdone old talk of youth systems comes in..we have not moved forward as a nation and as a region.

There is not enough English to explain this to you. Yes, Kenya has issues but with all due respect your comparison on this particular issue is nonsensical.
