1. If you are gay, don't hide under the veil of being a heterosexual.
I hear they say get out of the closet.

3. I find his view that polygamy is unacceptable insulting.
If you choose western culture over the African, it's your choice.
I choose my African culture.

Gay rights are indeed Human rights. I just read Warigi's article and it is as homophobic as it gets. I cant believe he thinks his stance is better than Ugandans yet he writes a condescending , patronizing article on gays.

And no one is shoving anything in anyones face. Gays just want to be recognized and left alone. When teachers protest in the street to demand higher pay, are they shoving it in anyones face ?

blah blah blah... we don't accept that kind of behavior on this continent - deal with it.

Who is we ?
I hope you realize that gay marriage is legal in SA.
I hope you realize that a significant number of urbane Kenyans actually have no problems with gays.
If you do not accept that kind of behavior then speak for yourself. Dont count everyone as a homophobic.

Oh and BTW, a very high proportion of Kenyans engage in gay behavior. There have been stories all over the media about boys and girls but especially girls in boarding engaging in lesbianism. So your notion of "we dont accept blah blah blah" is bogus.

The tide of gay rights is unstoppable. The mere fact that Kenya has a gay lobby which was unthinkable even a decade ago is proof positive that the tide is unstoppable. In another 10 years , it is the homophobes who will be hiding. Deal with it.

your are probably right. in perhaps 10 years or perhaps 20! but as of now! that will not happen. legalizing it does not help the case as seen is SA with the violence that did not exist before this thing was pushed to the forefront, India rolled back the law while the people who vilified it all over their colonies are preparing to institute it. the fact is this, shouting about it in 3rd world countries MAKES IT WORSE!!

I am not saying gay marriage should be legalized any time soon. I am saying gay people should be left alone and warigi types should stop writing nonsensical articles that are thinly veiled homophobia.

I also think that laws criminalizing gay behavior should be removed from the books. A country like Kenya whose prisons are overflowing with real criminals should not be wasting time prosecuting people for gay behavior. Our overworked Police and judges should be focused on real crimes instead of wasting time with nonsense like whether someone is gay or not.

With regard to making it worse, quite frankly gays should not care. I know people will resist. Change is always difficult. When blacks in South Africa were protesting apartheid, they were also told the same thing. "protesting will make things worse". That did not stop them.

And we Kenyans have much bigger fish to fry. Kenyans are sick tribalists and our politicians are the worst culprits why dont Kenyans focus on ending tribalism which is a real and present danger instead of trivial mambo like the gay agenda which literally hurts nobody ?

Heck if hate-mongers like Warigi penned articles addressing real issues like tribalism, we would be much better off.

On what evidence are people born gay? Ati gays want to be recognised?.... is there a chama for heterosexuals? I feel nothing when people call me homophobic or start saying that am a closet gay because i am homophobic coz that is just silly conjecture to fend off criticism. Regarding teachers and any other protests, you will find that they are protesting for rights while homo's are fighting to be recognised!! Why would i want to know if you open your butt cheeks and behave like its normal. Do that in the privacy of your home!!

Interesting reads: Demographics of sexual orientation

Americans Have No Idea How Few Gay People There Are

Heterosexuals do not need a lobby because there rights are not infringed by anyone.
Gays just want to be left alone. In Kenya where people are still in the stone-age, a gay person can be beaten and stoned simply for being gay. For that matter a gay person can be thrown in jail simply for being gay. Have you seen any laws against heterosexual behavior ? if not then why would they need a chama.

With regard to gays being born that way, I will reference the words of John Amaechi,, the famous gay NBA player who asked this question : Gays are the most maligned group of people. In many countries a gay person can loose his life simply for being gay. Why would a person risk life, limb and reputation if they had the option of being heterosexual ? If you engage your brain even for a second you will realize that no one would choose to be gay. They are born that way. And that is why some gay people commit suicide. They want to be normal i.e. heterosexual but they cant.
