Last date for dealing in nil paid rights is today. If you are a wanjiku who’ll not be exercising your rights, you better sell them today. A few cents per share is not bad in wiping the tears.

... somebody also tell this to the minority shareholder in post 238 by VVS Laughing out loudly

Now SIB gives KQ rights a fair value of 20.42(48%) For Fy 2012/2013.

They claim embraers brought in this year will lead to increase in eps next year.

I dont know what they smoking, but i dont want it.

you guys should also understand that a 70% subscription is considered a success in such a huge rights issue so cut the analysts some slack they might just be right this time

The rights are a rip off, better buy after rights issue (for those who want to buy)

I pity those who are not seeing the big picture;i am one of those who use to laugh away KQ share when it languished in the six bob territory around 2001 only for it to climb to 120 a few years later. for the non-believers please get a recent report by Afrika Investment Bank and also see:

So the last date for trading the rights on the NSE have come and gone with plenty of rights that had been put on offer going unsold. This is a pointer that the rights will NOT reach full subscription.

All the same, I think with the current froth in the market, there may be a SHORT TERM bounce in the offing, once the date for payment passes (i.e. 27th April) and shares become scarce for a while. On that basis, I have gotten me some @ 14 PURELY for SPECULATION.

I was monitoring the market today online right up to the close. Just before 3.00 p.m. there were like 25 million rights on the sell side with NO BIDDERS. In total today only about 5.45 million rights were transacted @ 5 cents.

SIB are the Lead Transaction Brokers.

“We expect that most shareholders will take up their rights towards the closure of the offer window,” said Amish Gupta, a director at Standard Investment Bank.

You are so lost, did the bear eat you up?

Very dangerous to speculate here, but i agree with your prediction, i wrote something similar last month. i think the bounce will be on the run up to subscription announcement. I've learned about rights from u and others. The period you predict shares will be scarce, why will they be?

I have a theory this share has been propped by the major shareholders for the purpose of the rights, we'll see.

IFC is to participate in this rights issues. The way the rights are being vigorously marketed shows the 'confidence' behind the firm...

IFC sees loans. Citi sees loans. I see derivatives, that's what they aint saying...

Money talks...Brokers are getting paid...are you? But it's such a shame that SIB produced such kind of crap just because they're getting paid by KQ...I pity who gets advice from this guys...

SIB gets paid fees & commissions.
Citibank gets fees & sales of products to KQ.
IFC gets to give loans to KQ.
The mgmt & Boards gets salaries & bonuses.

So who doesn't get paid? The shareholders who do all the paying.

And who was that guy who wanted to stall the whole project? The one who has a case in court to halt the rights claiming that his right as a minority wanjiko shareholder is infringed?
Does he have a case?
