Let c = chocolate & w = wrappers Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly (memories are made of this)

$15 = 15c
15c = 15w
15w = 5c
5c = 5w
5w = 1c (as remaining 2w can get you a c)

total = 15c + 5c + 1c = 21c

Weldone @Radio,but l thought it depends on the number you consume at the shop and also if you want to spend the whole $15

Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly Sasa @Ngong you are over thinking!

Kweli watu walikuwa maembe hesabu. BODMAS. The bracket is multiplication i.e 4(4) = 4*4 = 16.

Now you are done with B, we don't have O (of), but we have D (division), therefore (tulikua tunaweka dots taut zinakaa kama triangle) ; 16/16 = 1. We don't have the rest, hence the answer is 1.

You are right and wrong.

4(4) is the same as 4 * 4. That's right!

So now we have 16 ÷ 4 * 4.

What comes first? Division or Multiplication? That is where you went wrong. Division comes first. Divide 16 by 4 then multiply the answer by 4. So now we have: -

4 * 4 = 16

4(4) is not really the same as 4*4, thats where you are going wrong.

Shida gani??? I thought this argument was settled in posts #74, #75 and most importantly, post #88.

Note: The link in post #88 might take you to the wrong place if you are browsing on a phone unless your phone loads default pages as opposed to mobile versions. If you are not being taken to a page with a calculator at beginning of the page, try using a computer.

d'oh! Three guests check into a hotel room. The clerk says the bill is sh30, so each guest pays sh10. Later the clerk realizes the bill should only be sh25. To rectify this, he gives the caretaker sh5 to return to the guests. On the way to the room, the caretaker realizes that he cannot divide the money equally. As the guests didn't know the total of the revised bill, the caretaker decides to just give each guest sh1 and keep sh2 as a tip for himself. Each guest got sh1 back: so now each guest only paid sh9; bringing the total paid to sh27. The bellhop has sh2. And 27 + 2 = 29 so, if the guests originally handed over sh30, what happened to the remaining sh1?
