@F&F

So far I see the goat plans are progressing well but, unless I have been speed reading, I see no one stepping forward...

Quoted from Wikipaedia...."In various case series, the risk of complications in the donor is around 10%, and very occasionally a second operation is needed. Common problems are biliary fistula, gastric stasis and infections; they are more common after removal of the right lobe of the liver. Death after LDLT has been reported at 0% (Japan), 0.3% (USA) and <1% (Europe), with risks likely to decrease further as surgeons gain more experience in this procedure."

10% risk of complication is OK. 1% chance of death I think is somewhat bearable - I say somewhat because personally I'd want to keep my donating ability for my offspring should the need ever arise (knock wood)...

I am blood group A+ - if, in terms of "type matching" your doc says that's a good starting point to be eligible to donate...

@ F&F, You are in our thoughts and prayers. A lot have been said & to add on, please do not be afraid of tomorrow for God is already there. Become a possibilitarian, no matter how dark things seem to be or actually are, cos some days there won't be a song in your heart, but a hopeless end, sing anyway and see an endless hope…

I came back yesterday. Jetlag and customs took most of my day.

Anand Ramamurthy is my doctor at Apollo hospital in Chenai India. He is based at the Centre for Liver Disease and Transplant as a consultant.

He gave me various options for Transplant but said 80% Alcoholic cirrhosis at times reverses but painfully slowly.

He prescribed plenty of drugs to be using before a donor is found, if one is ever found.

So, am on line for a donor liver.

Thanks guys for your prayers.

The signature of God runs in all things. Only fools fail to see it and believe in Him. However, others see it even where non exists - now you see where the false pastor comes in.

Brother...You will pull through...So come December 1 2012 and @F&F is still on and about, what will you do to that Doctor? Sue him for causing you untold anxiety?
...As best as I know, even when people are their death beds and the doctors know that they have only a few seconds to live, they always tell them and their relatives that everything is going to be fine. This is the first doctor I am hearing who can't give patients hope, even with current technological innovations where machines can keep you alive for years! What is his name? Sorry but I always say it as it is!

Probably then you have not had a close relative/friend who is terminally ill.

One Dr Musau referred to my relative who had brain cancer as being 'as good as dead' on viewing his scans.Sad He later died(my relative that is) but I think that was WRONG.

Cut f nf some slack Magigi. What if he is right?
Laughing out loudly smile Applause d'oh! Sad Drool Liar Shame on you Pray
