good topic. i have 2 fairly good ideas. i hope they have not been mentioned elsewhere, didnt read all the replies. 1. rent an old taxi and operate it. you can rent a fairly decent used taxi for 500 - 700 kshs daily. go to ngara and nairobi west. it has all the requisite makaratasi and yellow line. you then operate it from wherever. 2. re-selling construction sand/cement/manure in middle class estates. just buy about 3 tonnes of mchanga for about 3k, and 2 bags of cement. pay kanjo their 40 kshs hawkers fees, and mungiki their 200 protction fee and set up shop in a place like south B, C, langata etc. folks are always repairing their homes. look for an empty patch of land and operate from there.
