Death sentence was rarely carried out in ancient Israel for some of those funny capital offenses. @Spikes take note.

Walter Kaiser Jr., Peter H. Davids, F. F. Bruce, and Manfred T. Brauch, Hard Sayings of the Bible (Downers Grove: IVP Academic, 1996), p. 162. ISBN 0-8308-1423-X wrote:

There is some question as to whether the death penalty was invariably or even usually implemented in ancient Israel, or whether this was even the intention of the Tanakh (c.f. Numbers 35:31). "It must be noted that the death penalty might also indicate the seriousness of the crime without calling for the actual implementation of it in every case. In fact, there is little evidence that many of these sanctions were ever actually carried out in ancient Israel. Only in the case of premeditated murder was there the added stricture of 'Do not accept a ransom for the life of the murderer who deserves to die' (Num 35:31). . . . Traditional wisdom, both in the Jewish and Christian communities, interpreted this verse in Numbers 35:31 to mean that out of the almost twenty cases calling for capital punishment in the Old Testament, every one of them could have the sanction commuted by an appropriate substitute of money or anything that showed the seriousness of the crime, but in the case of what we today call first-degree murder, there was never to be offered or accepted any substitute or bargaining of any kind: the offender had to pay with his or her life".[29]

When a man strikes his male or female slave with a rod so hard that the slave dies under his hand, he shall be punished. If, however, the slave survives for a day or two, he is not to be punished, since the slave is his own property. (Exodus 21:20-21 NAB)

Slaves, obey your earthly masters with deep respect and fear. Serve them sincerely as you would serve Christ. (Ephesians 6:5 NLT)

Christians who are slaves should give their masters full respect so that the name of God and his teaching will not be shamed. If your master is a Christian, that is no excuse for being disrespectful. You should work all the harder because you are helping another believer by your efforts. Teach these truths, Timothy, and encourage everyone to obey them. (1 Timothy 6:1-2 NLT)

We must reject all forms of oppression and prejudice esp in the name of religion. He who does not stand against oppression, prejudice and tyranny supports it.

Since the time of John the Baptist the homosexuals, sorcerers, wizards are put to death spiritually. Remember the battle is spiritual and not physical.
Leviticus 20:27 The Message
“A man or woman who is a medium or sorcerer among you must be put to death. You must kill them by stoning. They’re responsible for their own deaths.”
We don't roam door to door eliminating gays. No! We stone them spiritually.
John 5:17 But Jesus replied, “My Father is always working, and so am I.”

Btw it's not too long ago that religious fanatics were using all manner of justifications to oppress the African and now the gay man. Incidentally their justification and inspiration for mistreating the Africans came from "Holy" Books

First is that Africans were cursed by the "Curse of Canaan/Ham" as below

20 And Noah began to be an husbandman, and he planted a vineyard:
21 And he drank of the wine, and was drunken; and he was uncovered within his tent.
22 And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brethren without.
23 And Shem and Japheth took a garment, and laid it upon both their shoulders, and went backward, and covered the nakedness of their father; and their faces were backward, and they saw not their father's nakedness.
24 And Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son had done unto him.
25 And he said, Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren.
26 And he said, Blessed be the Lord God of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant.
27 God shall enlarge Japheth, and he shall dwell in the tents of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant.
– Genesis 9:20–27, King James Version

So because of this "Holy" book a lot of white heaven-bound Christians would have forcibly taken you from your home, put you in chains, put you on a ship to go and be their servant, raped the women, stole your lands and did all manner of injustices. After all the holy book approves!

Africans need to THINK before they regurgitate the non-sense that comes from the mouth of "evangelicals". A mind is a terrible thing to waste

Your problem is that your education has boxed you into not being able to think beyond the Bible and religious text. You have become a proper "Sijui" who does not know where you came from.

You somehow think that a foreign religious text which only landed here 150 years ago through colonialism somehow is the literal truth and forget that for TENS of thousands of years before that our ancestors had their own way of life with themselves as the chosen people.

Critical thinking needs to be introduced as a core subject in the educational curriculum. Not learning by memory and regurgitation. This produces sheep not THINKERS.

Your problem is an overly simplistic understanding of the world which doesn't support intellectual inquiry and thought.

In your world, there are no people like Caster Semenya. Sex is only about pro-creation and the only natural sex is heterosexual sex. Just because you don't have homosexual tendencies or that you have one pair of sexual organs doesn't mean that everyone in the world is built like that. You can easily Google homosexual behavior in animals to know that this happens or be observant enough to notice that even sheep and some dogs display it.

In stead of listening and regurgitating what your pastor keeps repeating to you every Sunday while threatening fire and brimstone to anyone with a different view you should pick up a book and do some studying.

Let me leave this one here...mlisema there is some holy book interpretationsmile smile smile iko ndani ndani kwa kanisa

Quote:
Investigations into the murder of Catholic priest Michael Kyengo took a dramatic twist yesterday when a prime suspect said he had been in a romantic relationship with the cleric.

The fresh claims by the 25-year-old nursery school trained teacher have sent investigators back to the drawing board, a day after a postmortem examination on the priest, confirmed that he died of stab wounds.

Kyengo’s body was discovered buried in a shallow grave on Wednesday, eight days after the priest was reported missing from his Matungulu home in Machakos County.

Last evening, detectives from the Special Crime Prevention Unit and the DCI homicide unit were yet to make a decision on whether to conduct a second postmortem to confirm claims of the romantic relationship.

“Just like in cases where claims of sexual nature are made, we are considering a second round of examination on his body to confirm if there was any intercourse,” a source familiar with the probe said yesterday.

Forensic examination of the suspect’s mobile phone has further reinforced his claims after the police discovered romantic text messages alleged to be between the preacher and the male teacher.

In one of the conversations seen by the Saturday Standard dated October 6, the two referred to each other in romantic terms of “Hi dear” and “hi my love”.
