Critical levels here - either a huge breakout or a huge breakdown. But not likely to happen now with the thin trading volumes.

The dollar index (DXY) momentum is slowing and turning bearish. The weekly US bonds index is also neutral as per bollinger bands. Breakout means the USD rallies and stocks selloff while the opposite applies. By January we will know which side influences the trend.

Next year the yen is going to get it in the chin as per chart patterns across multiple crosses. I expect the yen to be a short the 1st half of 2013 before reaching overtended selling extremes.

The chart shows no new lower lows. The current price is also testing the falling trendline before the breakout.

The past one week has been depressing for me as far as CHF pairs are concerned. Take GBPCHF pair for example; I was forced to adopt a pseudo Martingale strategy because the bloody pair kept on going up whilst my analysis pointed to the opposite direction. Friday's close helped to calm my nerves somewhat but next week will inform a decision, whether to keep or close my positions. Hoping for a windfall. Happy pipping all.

A week later CHF bulls prove they're still in control as GBPCHF breaks the Dec 2012 low confirming bear trend continuation. @Mkimwa hope you are still in your bear trade. My breakout trade didn't trigger, but got triggered on USDZAR on breakout @8.85.

Mean while USDZAR broke out and test 9.00. Further weakens expected on the rand.

USDJPY has now surpassed 91.00 confirming that 100 is the next big figure target. Further weakens expected on the yen.

High stake volatility casino. Many investors burn due to risk management indiscipline. And it takes years to produce consistent results. If you cant stand seeing your investment get wiped out, stick to equity.
Another high stakes casino is binary options.

Feel welcome, but drop that gambler mentality.Be prepared to learn. As already pointed out it will take time b4 u start getting consistent returns.

@Ceinz i doubt this qualifies as a cup n handle. Been holding a gold long since August though. I got in at your weekly support but the swap is killing me!!

Whaa! August? ur good. Sorry for the swaps. This is just my long term look, though I know I cant hold a trade for that long. Im looking at longing at the current level once a bull move is confirmed and hold till around 1720 where I anticipate a significant retrace and buy the dip. pole pole hivyo till the ultimate target.

Out of the USDZAR long position with a measly profit. Breakout move above 9.00 not working as planned. Sidelined for now.

@ceinz,dave - PMs have traded sideways for too long while global equities race back to pre GFC levels as $, € and ¥ are flooded globally! This printing spree should be boosting PMs just like equities, but nothing doing d'oh! Stinks of manipulation, which is no longer a conspiracy theory...

Crazy moves being posted on euro and yen and yes they are sure going back to pre GFC levels. Yes quite funny that PMs don't show any reactions as expected. Anyway instead of sitting and waiting my focus will now shift to weekly pullbacks on eur/jpy.
