Murchr, I have been flirting with Carbacid of late, though I noticed that it's not very popular with wazua gurus, infact I tried to seduce them with a thread, some dismissed it,most ignored. What is your opinion of it?

The valuation at the moment is favorable.

But why the decline?

H1 Earnings through 31st January 2014 versus 6 months through 31st January 2013

H1 Turnover 473.761m versus 546.713m -13.343%
H1 Cost of Sales [180.436m] versus [222.197m]
H1 Gross Profit 293.325m versus 324.516m -.9.611%

Caution, buy at a lower price

Thanks Broda. I'm already in, albeit at a higher price, I think its a sound business I can hold on for longer, I will average down.... another not very popular concept with the gurus.

Nope, that's the way it is. The company being "acquired" has some value in it that the other company lacks or needs.

Thought so too. You buy what is being bought because of presumed quality!

A win-win for Britam and the Equity.

Britam gets a stable but growing investment into which they can invest long term pension and life insurance funds.

Equity gets to harvest its investment in HF, to re-invest in other market beating ventures. Remember venture capitalists own close to 50% of Equity.
