McReggae.....Whether we win or not, Its still a worthless cup. I'm only excited because Redknap was so confident he'll beat us. It was all about North London bragging rights.

Yeah, that was game about bragging rights...Redknapp said he knew they'd have a hard time immediately he saw Arse's players...they had fielded a better side... Chelsea have finally lost at The Bridge, Newcastle beating the ten men...for Man Utd, at least Owen will shut up for as long as we're still in the Carling - I still can't believe he was whining about not getting playing time in the first 11! smano, Mike Phelan was so confident without SAF jana, what's your take on that??? TAZ, whatever you say, it appears Mr. Bean has realized that this time round he needs at a cup hata kama ni 'worthless' as you presuppose!!!! With Citeh,Fools, Chelski, Everton, Spurs all out, he only has United to worry about!!!! ..."Wewe ni mtu mdogo sana....na mwenye amekuandika pia ni mtu mdogo sana!".

McReggae....what confidence do you need to beat a team like s....horpe???
If you've been following Arsenal's in the Carling cup you would realise that the team that played Spurs is almost the same which played last season. The only difference is that those particular players are now developed...probably thats why you thinkArsenal fielded a strong team. Wenger has always dismissed the Carling cup and i don't think thats about to change. The last time Arsenal won this cup was i think in '93

Dismissed???? Give me a break, were you really watching his behaviour from the stands, he has simply realized that time is running out for him to win a silverware and is gonna do anything to win anything.....desperado!!!! ..."Wewe ni mtu mdogo sana....na mwenye amekuandika pia ni mtu mdogo sana!".

I was impressed to hear SAF had gone to watch the Valencia La Liga game during the Sc***horpe game since we'll be playing them in the CL group stages...shows where the priorities lie...like SAF, i always think of the opportunity we missed in 2004 (going down to Porto on the away goal in the semis) and last season (same scenario against Bayern). While am not saying we'd have automatically won the final, those were 50 50 games. Anyways, yaliopita si ndwele...as fas as Whelan's confidence is concerned, I wan't sure what to make of it...all I know is that he'll probably never be the manager when SAF retires - I think Jose harbours ambitions of coaching Man Utd one day, and I think he'd do well, if only to prove The Roman wrong. By the way @Taz, it's Redknapp who thought Wenger fielded a strong side - not me. You can only hope that this season will be different for you guys (as do I for Man Utd). The truth is whichever way you look at it, Arsenal did field a strong side. Whether it is by maturity (as @Taz) says or by selection. And that shows that the competition is now being taken seriously by most teams...
Except for Chelsea who fielded a disjointed team seemingly without any game plan and lost Kalou and Benayoun in the process. Damn Carlo!
@smano...Jose has always wanted to coach Man-u. But SAF is in good health and Jose will have to put on hold his plans. And who said that Roman cant buy Man-u at some point? If Jose wants to really rub it in, let him buy a club and then have his club beat Roman's

If Jose wants to really rub it in, let him buy a club and then have his club beat Roman's[/quote] That would be quite something....all am saying is that if/when Jose comes to Man Utd, dethroning his previous employer from the accolades that come with winning the EPL would be quite something BEER IS LIVING PROOF THAT GOD LOVES US AND WANTS US TO BE HAPPY!

I guess he has always dismissed the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League too! And I was wondering why Arsenal have not won ANY cup for the last five years! Kumbe ni kuzi dismiss tu. No one has ever explained it to me that clearly! Thank you. Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

Maich Black.....At this point i don't think i'll explain my point any further but I appreciate the fact that you think 5 years without a trophy for Arsenal is unacceptable
Whether we field a strong or weak team the fact remains...The Carling Cup is the most worthless cup in the EPL. I Have never seen any team go on a trophy parade for winning this cup...I would rather we get knocked out of this cup as early as possible. The Emirates Cup (Sponsors) has more value than this piece of trash.
Seriously whats the purpose of this cup????? We already have the FA Cup.

This afternoon at 2.45pm the moneybags of EPL are set to clash. Though i won't mind a victory for moneycity.... A 1-1 draw will still be good enough. Moneycity twende kazi!!!! Nothing thrills like watching Petr Cech concede a goal. IF YOU EXPECT ME TO POST ANYTHING POSITIVE ABOUT ASENO, YOU MAY AS WELL SIT ON A PIN

More seriously, if am given an option between going for FIVE seasons trophyless and a Carling Cup.....I will proudly go for the latter any day any time.
