@mukiha

I also got pissed with the presentation during the second part! Ati all dressed up in black trenchcoats and mafia shades. But what pissed me off most is when they 'gotad'! Too sensational! They added too much salt to the broth!

@mkenyan and all..........The live tracking option is quit expensive and mostly meant for taxi and transit lorries/trailers.The most affordable in this category cost KES. 2,550 per month on top of installation charges of around KES. 35,000.And u have to pay this monthly subscription upfront for the one year period or u can opt to sign a standing order with Track-It for two years..!!!

But what akina yahe wameweka is the cheapest offer in any tracking category,normally reffered to as Passive Tracking,u got to wait till your car is stolen then u call Track-It,then they 'activate it' (I dont know how) then they start tracking the car.Like 90% of all mortals including those here in SK have this version.......This only cost KES. 35,000 installation cost plus yearly subscription of KES. 12,500.

Mpigs like Eseli and Iso-Ruto should have applied for the Live/Active version,because they can afford it and stop bickering here ati they 'are living in a fools paradise' But for hapless mortals like Njung'e,Mkenyan,Jammo,Wendz,McReggae....et al,pray had and just have faith and hope.

@mkenyan...And what to do with this Nakumart smartcard??? I have Tuskys and U-Card and was thinking of trashing this U-card thing and replace it with the Nakumart one..Please advive me.Thanks.

If you all watched citizen,KBC,K24,Nation or listened to the over 50FM radio stations,you would not be screaming about KTN's low standards. But for some reason you watch KTN every day,then you come here and try to piece together weak accusations on why this was not done,and why that turned out that way.

C'mon guys,'Kizuri chajiuza,Kibaya .....' let KTN be,if they are unethical,their luck will soon run out. In the meantime watch the more 'credible' channels.

Caveat

I have no idea what this is all about,but I had to still say something,so please don't bite my head off.

I have one question for all those who use this device.

Why would you want to have it? I don't get it. If your car is stolen,isn't the insurance company supposed to pay for it? I can't see any logical reason why an individual would want it. I would think only a fleet company would need it.

why would you want a cannibalised car back when your insurance company can get you a better car? Or is there something I am missing?

@Chaka

The cost of 35K + 12.5K is equal to the comprehensive cover for a car worth 1.25m,ama?

@obi there was nothing better to watch while waiting for chelsea liverpool. And it still doesn't explain shoddy journalism.

@obi:

Off the top of my head these issues pop up (and of course I am generally sceptical of the media):

-Should the end justify the means?
-What could be the Track It company's story and will it see the light of day in light of the fact that KTN has already taken a stand on the matter?
-if KBC,CITIZEN,NTV etc are worse than KTN (IF) would that necessitate us not holding KTN to a high standards?
-The story and accusation by KTN is a very serious one that would most likely lead to Track It folding with several people being jobless; should'nt the reporters and the station thus make sure that the story is as strong as it possible is. Have in mind that we are showing some flaws in it here and we are not like some lawyers preparing for a brief over it.

@impunity - Have no problem with Nakumatt or their Smart Card. Just do not like the idea of someone having details of what I believe are personal like name,contact details; the type of stuff I buy; my daily (monthly) expenditure. Problem is that all that information is stored by Nakumatt (they would be stupid if they do not as that is one of the general idea behind it) and they use it for their planning and marketing. Such information can easily be abused. Do not know Nakumatt's Privacy Policy or do I know of how secure their database is.

@nanfor....have you ever tried making any claim from any of your insurer(s)..??? If u had then you wont ask this question again.To claim a mere 50K to panel beat your car bamper may take u upto around a year to get such a small claim....Anyway to cut the short story long,my friend with the type of Insurance firms we have in Kenya,u would rather spend Kes.42,250 than to lose your Kes. 800K car and start explaining to the Rogue Insurer why your car was stolen.

@nanfor - I do not have a tracking device but I would imagine it would come in handy if you really get attached to your car,you want to punish the thieves and make sure they do not benefit or if you are unwise enough to want to confirm that your partner is cheating on you.
