@My 2 cents, go easy smile
I was only referring to Berkshire Hathaway's belief, being an investment company, that money should always be reinvested to growth net value of asset instead of being paid out as frequently happens in Kenya.

On another note page 10, sectoral information, shows rates of return for business lines: quoted equity, private equity, real estate infrastructure...

diluted Earnings Per Share (EPS) of Ksh 1.40...if they mantain this run rate forward PE is 8.2

Unaudited results for the six month period ending September 30 2010 showed that Centum Investment’s company profit before tax was Kshs. 760 million compared to Kshs. 80 million in the previous period...just like all financials this year's record profits are from a low base can they mantain the momentum into the new year?

“Even though we computed a diluted Earnings Per Share (EPS) of Ksh 1.40 for the group, we have chosen to follow our corporate strategic plan for the five year period to 2012 during which we will not be paying any dividends to our shareholders,” Centum Chief Executive Officer James Mworia noted...2012 is not far.

Centum is a strong buy it has more than 50% upside potential.

I was going through the Fullyr statement for carbacid and i noted that centum does not feature among the 10. They must have sold the entire lot making a killing.

Centum stands for "I'll make you rich". I still remember when I bought this baby at 12 bob early this year.

@Mlennyma, is the share a good buy below 24?
Wisdom to detect when share prices hit rock bottom.
When interest on bonds keep going up, you know the bear run is on high street. When interest on bonds start leveling, the bear has met the bull and they have hit rock bottom. When the interest rates on bonds start coming down, the bull has overpowered the bear and you better be riding the bull.

Centum is said to have bought 22.6% stake in carbacid last May 2009..(during slump in stocks..)..thus ought to be on top 10 largest shareholders of carbacid..
http://www.bloomberg.com...hSi1IM&refer=africa

rumours were they were buyin Matiba's stake in it..at that moment..and economic climate then..discussion on wazua was..

http://www.wazua.co.ke/f...aspx?g=posts&t=4415

The fact that centum does not feature in largest carbacid shareholders makes me wonder the details of the transaction..ie cost..sale..gain/loss from it..

rumor had it..MainaT hadn't confirmed..that they paid about Kshs350M for the stake..translating to about 137bob a share..

..how much did they off it at?..i see from their books they pocketed a Kshs469million gain from disposing quoted stocks..note 8..
..carbacid could be here?

ANd bytheway..I thought it is a cma requirement that when you are a major shareholder of a company and intent on selling your stock u must notify market?
