I do not remember ever throwing a tantrum when I was young. Its not that I did not, I think it may have happened but I was probably too young to remember it now. I however do remember seeing my younger brother throwing one and it was hilarious. He would start out by jogging on the spot and crying. He would quickly increase the speed and soon he was sprinting on the spot while the volume of his crying would rise at the same rate. The faster his feet moved the louder he cried out. Then he would fling himself on the ground and roll on the dirt. I had almost forgotten about these episodes until a few days ago when I felt like doing the same thing.

Kisa na sababu; landing permission denied. I thought I had read all the signals, checked the weather, done the preliminaries to establish agreeability with management and had spent a few hours getting ready. I think in my mind I had already taken it for granted that I would have a smooth landing so it felt like a slap in the face. No, first I thought it was joke so I tried to be funny with it. When that did not work I thought I just needed to show more commitment so I pleaded some more. When I got a gentle but firm NO after a couple of hours that is when I felt like starting to run on the spot.

It is a feeling of anger mixed with dissapointment, dejection, humiliation and helplessness. It is totally irrational and emanates from a place that is beyond reason. I remember the thinking part of my brain "understanding" that it is alright. She does not feel like it and it is totally legimitate and normal but it still hurt. It is impossible to talk about this feeling with anyone. The management noticed and was very consoling which made it even more embarassing. The feeling wore off after some time but it lingered long enough to make me reflect and wonder what kinds of outlets people have for these unspeakable hurtful feelings. Bosses harassing junior employees. A father taking it out on the children. Drinking in excess. Indiscriminate landings outside the home airport. Luckily I did not do anything stupid but if there was ever a time I felt vulnerable to do a stupid thing it was then.

Kusadikika, Pole ndugu. these things happen to everybody.Only a few ufungua roho yao.

By sharing with us hear , you have already thrown your tantrum.

Your story cements the reason as to why our Muslim brothers allow men to have more than one wife.Kama huyu ameweka access denied ,you have an alternative airport to land kama ndege haija isha mafuta.

BTW I never thought such a charming guy like you ( at least by your posts here) could get a no landing warning'access denied'.Airports are just hard to understand.

Guka, from your 100 yrs of life experience may be you can add your comment on this.

@Kusadikika,
Own airport or some airport out in there in the bush? (Like the DRC ones)
Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.

...You said the weather was fine, which is the greatest man's fear. Did you try to understand whether there could be other reasons why landing right were denied, which could have led to seeking an alternative airport to land.

@nostopping, i have experienced worse(maybe better for some). One time came home with a ki neighborhood chick kiddu midnight quite drunk jumped into bed and blacked out, said to myself "nita land asubuhi" i was later awoken by some management "manipulating" the landing gear trying to forcefully land the plane, worse the chick never even bothered to try "dress" the plane....only consolation was that she was a bit hot...but it looked like rape to me....pushed management off....she acted like she could remember nothing in the morning..ngai!

Seems like you had not tuned the engine well.

There is always a reason behind such unwanted behaviours

@MuchKnow in your case you must have engaged the airport control and even sent signals to notify of your intentions to land only for you to run short on gas.So the management had to take upon them to forcefully land the plane and thats how you got urself in that scenario.
Hopefully though i do hope you managed to land successfully.
