This is the thread where we discuss the truly inspiring Kenyans who've become financially successful within the law. You can post any Kenyan successes here, even if their methods are not to many people's liking(e.g Micheal Joseph), but absolutely no theives(e.g Biwott). You can also post their inspiring story(in brief) if you know it. No need to post exact worth. It would also be preferrable if they were self-made success stories.

Since I'm in the music industry, I'm well placed to name a few people:

1. Jua Cali: He came from humble beginnings in the lower class California estate, to 7-figure status after his famous Orange deal - Jua Cali's Biography

2. Nameless: After starting out in a "Megarider" his main mode of transportation is his new BMW X5 - Nameless' Biography

@kenyanlyrics; this is an ingenious way to get traffic to your site!

What did Biwott steal? Do you have facts, or do you rely on what his political opponents have said?
Nothing is real unless it can be named; nothing has value unless it can be sold; money is worthless unless you spend it.

Dan "Churchill"..this guy, is a role model. He started off as a 'guest' comedian on the redykyulas show, ebu see where he is now. He is rated as the entertainment industry's most successful. Kudos man.

There is a mumeru guy whose story is quite inspiring. The story goes like this.

He got retrenched during the dream team era he had kido 500k as 'golden-hand-shake' ,someone advised him to open a chicken rearing business in kitengela or mlolongo I cant remember the exact place. He pumped all his money into the venture 3-6months down the line, I dont know what happened exactly but the chicken started dying one by one.

One year later the guy was bankrupt,he had not only lost the business but also the farm during this period this guy had a friend who advised him to start selling kerosene in kibera, but because of pride the guy dismissed that advice at the time.

when poverty became unbearable for him he decided to take the advice of his friend ,so he relocated to kibera.

The first day he started with 5 liter gerican, and before noon he had gone to take another.

To cut the story short he used to buy kerosene from Patrick njirus petrol station so because of the rapid expansion of his business the petro station could not canter for his need so he bough t a canter I hear he was the pioneer of fuel dispensing canters/lorry here in kenya.then He entered into partnership with kenya oil during the Moi regime since he had been threatened with sabotage if he did not sign the partnership.

In 2002 he went solo, right now he is one of the biggest players in the oil industry.

a good number of athletes are doing quite well in Eldoret Town. Its because of them that Eldoret is one of the fastest growing towns in the country. All from their hard work and sweat literally.
It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt...

bkismat i like your analysis of people who have become rich without having to steal from fellow Kenyan, those Eldoret boys are good inspiration and the Wanjiru's of Laikipia.
On a light note i can not believe that a guy as informed as mukiha deos not know that Biwotti is one of the biggest thieves kenya ever produced. Remember the famous Mr.10% that used to be his Middle name in the 1990's becuse of the Turkwel dam,Eldoret Airport, Trade Bank and not forgetting Yaya Centre which was developed by funds from central Bank but the title remains in Biwotti's custody todate.
As a matter of fact, most rich people in Kenya are some kind of thieves one way or the other.
