Yes Covid it is RIP
Shirandula's brother-in-law Ronald Wanyama said he experienced difficulty in breathing before he was rushed to the Karen Hospital.

“It is sad he didn’t make it out of the hospital alive. He had tested positive for Covid-19. We are devastated,” he said.

Have read that MOH ordered that Papa be buried 8.00am today so they are about to inter him.

What is the logic or idea behind all this.It getting scaring and adds to stigma of this disease.

RIP Papa.

Farewell: Charles Bukeko laid to rest at his Busia home
Quote:
Renowned television actor Charles Bukeko, popularly known as Papa Shirandula, was on Monday morning laid to rest at his home in Nanderema, Samia Sub-County in Busia County.

Bukeko was buried by public health officials under the strict adherence to the public health Covid-19 body disposal guidelines. Only close family members comprising his wife, children and parents were allowed access to the gravesite apart from the public health officials.

Bukeko’s body arrived at his rural home at 3 am on Monday and remained in the hearse from which it was ferried to the grave. To limit the flocking of mourners, and possible breach of Covid-19 rules, gates were locked to prevent villagers from streaming into his compound. Beside this was the presence of security personnel to enforce order and calm to ensure quick and dignified burial.

Public health officials fumigated all the vehicles which arrived from Nairobi, and there was a standby person to clean the microphone before each speaker took to the podium to pay tributes.

Normally in the Luhya custom, the body of someone of the calibre of ‘Papa’ must be taken to the house first and later removed for burial after arriving home. However, this was never followed due to the limited time for the ceremony.

Reading his wife's narration suggests that Papa might actually died from Pneumonia or other infection rather than Covid.
The hospital didn't test for anything else.
What it means now,if you go to hospital with Malaria and Covid it's more likely that they will test for Covid only.

At this time of shock and grief, many things will be said.Is the wife a medic?

At this time of COVID,it becomes the first obvious test to do.My only wish is that they would have monitored him from the hospital and not at home. This home monitoring may lead to moee chaos and preventable deaths.

Feeling sad😥

First test but shoukd not be the only test.
Remember the Siaya case,James Oyugi probably died from the accident injuries but once he tested positive for Covid all else was forgotten.

TB kills 60 Kenyans every day. They shouldn't neglect other diseases because of COVID-19. And these social distancing rules don't apply to politicians. Sadly so
Lord, thank you!

The question is not how many are dying now from Corona, but what is the potential deaths in the medium term compared to other conditions.

Rough estimates with current trends is about 2.1m dead in kenya at 4%, 1m dead at 2% and best estimates of normal homa will leave 100k dead. All in a year. Crude death rate in kenya is......

In simple terms they never tested for anything else.
If your head gets smashed in a traffic accident they will test for Corona and you will be deemed to have died of Corona if you test positive.

We know that there are two type of outcomes of death:

1) Died BECAUSE of Covid
2) Died WITH a Covid infection

Based on what I heard - the wife Said he was tested only for Covid (although he was to be tested for more diseases). The brother-in-law stated that the Covid test came out positive. They stated he developed breathing issues and died. The breathing issues are a result of Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome(ARDS). the question is - was it caused by Covid or some other pneumonia (that was never tested for). I think based on his uzito I am stating that it's likely that he died from ARDS resulting from Covid.

Underline the word 'likely'
You don't know his medical history and without other tests we will never know what else was ailing him.
