According to BD, he is the new sheriff.
Good choice by the board. Now the hard part begins. He will need cash and time to turn this thing.

ION,
What happened at Equity? Thought he was being groomed for the corner office. The turnover at the C- level continues.

He will drown with Uchumi. The place is corrupt top to bottom, with some rich men eating there. He has no hope.

@Msa Liti
James Mwangi said he is still around as the next CEO for the next ten.
So the issue of him being groomed for the corner office faded away like a mirage.
Right now he ain't for the money but he wants to make a major comeback to the limelight and get a challenge.
When an opportunity arose he quickly grabbed the opportunity.
Not forgetting that him and the CFO (Samson Oduor)are great buddies

who are the major shareholders other than GOK and Jamii Bora? if the top shareholders are keen on growing their investment, he may get the support he needs

I think Uchumi is still a brand name though it has been badly damaged

all this positive change have been brought about by the entry of Jamii bora as the largest shareholder holding 15%. Jamii bora has no option other a long term investment strategy 5-10 years to reap their benefits.

When GK was no longer the shareholder. suddenly i saw hope for this company. And true to the word, we have seen attempts to recover. eg fired ciano, closed some branches, paying off debts. new promising ceo. Its not rocket science. so you wonder why KQ needs committe meetings to discover what went wrong and what to dod'oh!

This is the difference ladies and gentlemen between a good stock and a bad one d'oh!

Give credit to Jamii Bora who invested in the company via the rights issue in December and would not sit down and seen their invested just go like that in less than year.
This is what is needed in KQ and Mumias.

@heri;
The shareholder list is quite outdated;Jamii Bora are the top shareholders followed by GOK
