@ young farmer what this means is that if you will be holding those shares by close of business 30th March you will get your dividend.
Note that if you sold those shares tomorrow and bought back a similar amount on the 30th you would qualify.
Also that if you sold all of your BBK shares on the 31st You would still qualify.

D&B Commentary

Quote:

Our view.

 We note that Barclays’ bank slow growth in loan book will
continue to shrink its interest income
.

Cost of deposits continue to weigh down the top line as the
interest expense growth continues to accelerate despite a
slow growth in customer deposits.

 Non-interest income shrunk year on year, but we expect the
bank to drive growth in this line by improved product offering
.

Rise in non-performing loans to 3.6 percent, with a growth in
loan loss provision highlights the overall risk in the loan book
.
However, the ratios are still below the peer bracket.

 The bank trades at a price to book value of c.2.5 times against
a peer average of c2.3 times. The banks ROE stands at 21.96
per cent.

= hold

Growth in profits was due to the following;
Growth in interest income from loans and advances to customers
Cost containment as expenses were flat compared in previous year.
Customer deposits grew much faster than loans and advances;bank needs to do a lot of marketing for its products
The cost to income ratio is at 51.59% compared to KCB at 50.2%
