Hello good people.
I am thinking of getting a new car and I am torn between the above 2 makes. Anybody with advise on what could be a better choice?

Many Thanks

Forester can do some offroad while legacy is a low ride. Legacy is more spacious. question is, what are you looking for in a car?

Hahaha quicksand dreams are in deed valid.

I am looking for comfort, affordable running costs especially with fuel and may be good clearance.

Both have same fuel consumption (if non-turbos),around 10Km/Ltr on average and worse in town jam but Forester a little more. The Legacy is more agile and stable due to low center of gravity. The Forester needless to say has better clearance. But you could raise Legacy slightly using heavy duty Monroe springs.
Spares za Forester slightly more expensive.

Many Thanks bird_man. This may be naive to ask but do 2007 Foresters have triptronic transmissions,I know the legacy does.

I have only seen it on the Turbo Forester cross sport. On Legacy I have only seen it on BSport versions.

Speaking of non Turbo Foresters, I have seen that some non turbos are Cross sport and others are not, is there a big difference between the 2?

I have done my research and found out that anybody thinking of buy a forester should buy a 2008 model or wait for next year for import duty to go down, there are significant body structure changes that makes the model stylish.
