Why don't we have a facebook-like Like in wazua? Letting wazuans to like posts would enrich the conversations. Your thoughts.

It's my opinion that this' something that is long overdue. A like or thanks button would really reduce the vitriol and veiled hate speech that is common in Club SK.
I am a member in several other blogs where 'elders' and 'veterans' aren't those who have the most post counts (i mean, I can put a smiley on most posts in Wazua just to rack up my post count and in a months' time am a veteran, Pap!) but those who have the most thanks or likes.
Those with a humongous number of thanks can even be made to be moderators of the various wazua sections.
Lady admin, kazi kwako.
It is a curious fact that of all the illusions that beset mankind, none is quite as curious as that tendency to suppose that we are mentally and morally superior to those who differ from us in opinion.

wazua ni kama mlima mdogo. the idea is good, if a poster sees his posts getting no or few likes while his opponent is getting sacks of likes, he will change his attitude. but which hill ever changed?

And how would such a system generate knowledge?

This idea is against the Wazuan spirit.

A good example of how the proposed system would lock out such preciously rare, events.

You guys are starting to deviate from the topic, this "giving without mincing" thing should be discussed outside the forum.

In fact i now suggest that instead of having like, we have a thumbs up and thumbs down, so that whichever post gets more than a specified number of thumbs down gets hidden automatically.

This is a self-regulation mechanism like no other. It will work like yahoo's comment section appearing after every story.

@quicksand, @aemathenge, @tycho - Just giving someone a thumbs up does not mean you cannot go ahead and add some useful piece of info. In fact it ensures the trend of thought progressively increases knowledge and reduces the need for members to respond to awkward comments. This is a good idea.

I know that you deal with me in a decidedly unfriendly way, and I have preferred it that way. Please, keep it up!

I don't know how many read, or take me seriously. And I think trying to find that out is self destructive.

I am content with my own reflections, and of those that I read.

I haven't read all of your posts, and of those that I have, there are some that I have taken seriously, and others I haven't taken seriously. Many are those that I haven't understood.

So those scores you are keeping are just a reflection of your thinking.

You are a very good specimen to study.

And do you think I don't speak to you as it is? I do it every time!

I didn't understand what 'removing my mind' means.

@blueman, I had decided to keep quiet until I saw @Anti_Christy highlited his idea of changing people.

I understand your point, but, making a post with the fear that you may get a thumbsdown, means that foolishness is illegal.

And it is possible that a fool may seek knowledge. What if he annoys 70 times 7 times?

There's also something to learn from a fool. As the late Pope used to say, foolishness is a gift from God'.

Laughing out loudly you didn't have to explain it.They know.
sk is a playground.Place to annoy, fight, kick, make love, irritate, laugh let out stress.
The process may not be likeable u know.
The likes and thumbs can be restricted to the Blue, yellow and reds where dollars are made.
