What areas would you recommend in Nairobi with plots currently ranging 1m-1.5m? Preferrably a controlled area-story za kuzungukwa na flats si poa.

@Stra, Nairobi and Kenya at large changed while you were away!
the price you mentioned is for a small plot in Kajiado or Isinya if you are lucky.

@Stra ...how far from CBD?
Formally employed people often live their employers' dream & forget about their own.

You only have to look at Google maps to realise that Nairobi is one of the few cities in the world with alot of 'available uninhabited' land near it. Cities such as New York, Los Angeles, London, Monaco etc don't have that luxury. So focus your eyes on the great plains on southern parts of the city..... Kitengela, athi river, ruai, kamulu etc. Am sure 1.5m can get you land there. Otherwise in the already developed north prices are 22m per half acre. Even in Githurai a 40x80 is going for 6m.

If serious, I can show you 2 plots each 1/4acrce @ 1.2m , 1/8 @ 700,000.00 22km from CBD behind Nazarene University. Oloosirikon. Turn-off left just after Mutimedia University. Very Good area. Currently inhabited by zunyees from Karen.

@Stra, Go to Utawala!

Ngoingwa, Thika is Ksh. 2m along Thika Mangu Flyover highway. Interior plots are 1.3 to 1.9m. Land prices are crazy.

Thanks all. Please keep them coming; at this rate am sure will get some place. I don't think 1.5m is such small money as some are putting it, but we are all entitled to our views. Am also looking at some available options along ruiru by-pass near kamaki's.

Along By-pass, chunga conmen, they are many.

Am also looking for a plot there too but my budget is anything less than 1M, not more than 1km away from the bypass and not more than 3km from the superhighway.

For Ngoingwa, that place prices are too much, not unless you don't mind Tola.

The CITAM Ndarugu option is 6km from the superhighway. looks too interior. but 3m for 1/2 acre sounds a bargain. But again what do you do with half an acre for a home?

If I can, I would build my home on 5 acres minimum. Most of what we have (you too most likely)is a house but not home, where you cannot even fit in 2 cars if you have a visitor. In a home, you have wazee visiting and you eat nyama choma under trees 100 metres from the house, where wives are, while kids play katii another 100m away. That gives you a definition of home.

I second Ngoingwa in Thika. Beautiful houses coming up and with the super highway you will be in CBD in no time, save for a little delay at muthaiga.
