Is it true that KQ is retrenching 600 of its staff members today?
Yet Titus Naikuni (CEO) and Alex Mbugua (group finance director) shared a monthly package of Sh6.83 million last year.

Scope, roles and resposibilitie/Knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies of the two set of employees are different.

Let this workers go. When they were striking around 2010, i told a friend of mine that KQ will have the last laugh in the long run, he didnot believe. Here we are, who is the loser now; employees. staff cant win in corporates wars

Naikuni is doing now what he should have done 10 years ago... after all bickering by investors about operational inefficiencies at kq all thro the years.

..he should quit and join politics.. he is better of as a politician than an executive administrator in the private sector.

no its not..

..foreseeable short term future of KQ:

+industrial feuds..legal and time costs..plus RAO putting his nose where it is not required! NKT!
+Restructuring Costs (golden handshake crap for unnecessary staff)
+High fuel costs compared to last year..
+mitigating circumstances..politics..mrc..alshabaab..etc..

..dampened fortunes in the cards for KQ... similar to Australia's Quantas.
..benefits of current restructuring will reflect in next financial year... not this one.

The KQ Management has showed that they are in business and dont care about politics and political ambitions that are doomed to fail. Bw. PM had better take such cheap politics to his contituents and not in KQ - National carrier

why? i thought they are working hard to recover and adjust based on past mistakes so that the shareholder can recoup their investments in the next 2/3 years

@ ProverB. This is the second time he is doing it. 1st was in 2003. And mind u the KQ operational inefficiecies will not be solved by doing away with pple.

Naikuni has lost the plot. Why open new routes only to shut them within months? Is firing people the answer to the rising cost of fuel? People are losing their jobs because of sloppy management decisions. Perhaps its time to accept that Naikuni has run out of ideas.

The unfair thing about this retrenchment is that Kenyans are losing jobs while KQ continues hiring foreigners to do basic jobs!
