A disgruntled customer here. Needed to make an online purchase higher than my credit limit n was advised to pay cash to top up which I did on Sat. Tried to make my purchase at 10am but received a call to do so at 4pm. I attempted again Sun morning and all seemed ok till jana when amazon kwamishad my purchase... I visited I&M just to be informed my deposit has not reflected and will not until next month!! How now??? My mind has refused to process any explanation and I just don't get it! Now am stuck with a blocked amazon account (they probably think I was trying to be funny). And money on my credit card account which am not even sure I can withdraw kwa ATM. And of course bila the stuff I needed. Nkt!
An old analysis of Barclaycard on SK made me opt for I&M... Now am lost. Potential credit card holders...beware!

I'm using the card. I usually load via PayBill & so far so good.....well only that they sometimes charge a little higher on the dollar rate!
I think you should change the way you load the card.

I’ve been using the I&M USD prepaid card since the beginning of the year and have had no problems whatsoever purchasing from EBAY, Amazon, fueling and shopping in The Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, and a couple of times at Nakumatt. The only problem I have with the card is the EURO / Dollar exchange rate which is tad outrageous but the safety sort of negates it all (I was a victim whereby my BBK credit card was cloned and used all over Nairobi / Johannesburg buying various stuff until my credit limit was reached. Spent a few tense days with BBK fraud officers and happily, BBK didn’t take long to sort out the mess and let me off the hook). Needless to say, I threw the card as far as I could and went prepaid, just to avoid future headaches.

Been with CBA credit card for 3 yrs. No pain so far. The card centre support team is great and you get an SMS alert on every transaction.

For greater security against card fraud I'd recommend a DEBIT card not attached to your bank account.
That way even if it was cloned....they will steal only what's actually in you card's credit & not the thousands/millions in your bank account.

Did you call them or did they notice you're trying to make a purchase and called you?

If the latter, then I think they are commendable, despite not crediting your account on time.

They called me on noticing activity on my account. I gave up on my purchase though.

Then in that case I'd say you cut them some slack. Other banks will simply wait until you complain in the newspapers!
