I would pick Paul Mwai.... we need someone who can keep the chairman in his docket and run CMA as the CEO not as a PR person.

I'd pick Paul Mwai, he has a multi-faceted experience having worked at Barclays, African Alliance and a Stock brokerage firm. We need a hands -on CEO like him who understands all aspects of the Capital Market & stakeholders opportunity/challenges. The rest of the candidates have one line of experience only. Rose is a regulator only! Wanjiku is an Investment banker only! Pick Paul Mwai, Hon Githae, Kenya won't regret it!

Though I would be more convinced with what plans they have for our capital market and what new ideas could be in the kitchen from each candidate. There is nothing as dangerous as an Idea, when there is only one Idea

I would pick Wanjiku Mugane, she has the spirit of an entrepreneur having started her own company First Africa group she has the experience of raising funds and worked in boardrooms in equity where she was not a pushover and also EABL. The other two have not started and grown any companies spent all their time being bureaucrats and paper pushers. If this is the same Paul Mwai who used to be at old mutual then just another boring and colourless guy spent ten years portfolio mananger at BBK nothing eventful

Definately Rose Lumumba is a no no; insider so there will be no change and she is more of a regulator/administrator. Anybody who knows M/s Mugane would attest to the fact the she is equal to the job. She has vast regional (Africa) expereince and by the way she is no pushover. She is in this business of structuring deals for long so she knows her way around Pauls credentials looks equally impresive. Thieves

In the words of Mary Kay Ash founder of Mary Kay products- "There are three types of people in this world: those who make things happen(Wanjiku Mugane, MS,MBS), those who watch things happen(Paul Mwai) and those who wonder what happened(Rose Lumumba)."

Paul is obviously beholden to the exclusive boys club that runs the NSE hence his stint at AIB. As I said Wanjiku Mugane is the man! Tough as nails in negotiations and as others have pointed out an enterpreneur who created a successful business before selling it off. Need I point out the EABL & Equity boards experience? This is a no brainer really, and I doubt Githae will spend moer than 30 minutes making the decision. Wanjiku Mugane's CV, experience, ability for this job, accomplishments, business acumen, likely value add completely overshadow everyone the other 2 candidates combined would ever bring to CMA. CMA is in need of a quantum leap in ideas product innovation and expansion of the capital markets. I even wonder how they got Wanjiku to apply for this job. I hope they will not embarass her like they did to Adan Mohamed by telling us Rose Mambo ranked ahead of Wanjiku in the technical interview or something of the sort. This is not even a competition. It's like having Usain Borot or Rudisha racing any of us in a sprint or 800 meters!
Stech got obesessed with playing police and robbers with brokers at the expense of growing the pie. We are worse off than when she came in everything that can go wrong went wrong. I can't recall any other CMA CEO tenure when murphy's law played out fully. Even teputy Jairman's reign was better.

Wanjiku Mugane- No brainer, she is the kind who get jobs done. 1st choice
Paul Mwai -Tendency to support the big boys or is a hatchet man and can easily be misled by the NSE owners.
Rose Lumumba- PR person and regulator. Has no idea how its done but a good implementer.

Paul Mwai it is - Arguably nothing is more important to CMA than a CEO who understands the Kenyan market today from all perspectives - its challenges today and where it should be tomorrow. I have had the opportunity of watching Paul on CNBC talking about our Kenyan market, his knowledge is impressive and spot on and generated a lot of talk among my business peers here in SA - Well done, 1st Choice for the job!

I would pick my friend or My relative after all it is Kenya, I cannot unilateraly disarm because I will have a competitive disadvantage if I follow the law when Kimunya and his group are appointing their people!
