I doubt the 21 days... Its not very business oriented. You might want to confirm that. And review your sources as well.

The 21days waiver for cars in storage charges at boss CFS is true ask any agent as long as u nominate them. It makes sense when many people nominate them coz they make a minimum 15000ksh for other charges like wharfing no wonder mct there was only a handfull of cars

i lost 22k to storage coz i was charged 7k by those cheap bogus agent. If one is looking for quality service then i guess 12k is cheap. I know bigger companies who charge 20000ks but its all depend on how o rate quality. A room at the laico may cost 18k per night and in the same towm down near tearoom u get a room 4 500bob its all about quality

The average for clearing a car is 6k... But hey if one can afford to import a car, they can afford the extra 6k...

Have used the boss guys by default as I never nominated them. But my agent told me they are okay I did not have to worry about stolen parts and stuff. And he was right.

@Premio,I think you were not robbed of any money, most of the CFS, Im meant to understand give 4 or 5 days free. I recently self-imported my ride and for exactly 26 days I paid no extra coin at KENCONT CFS though mine was 'risky' arrangement.

MY experience:I bought a vehicle when on high seas,ie Did a T/T to AUTOCRAFTJAPAN (ACJ) and collected the unit from the local representative at Mombasa.Since by the time i was buying the vehicle was already loaded in the ship, the all documentation were in ACJ country representative name , save for the payment invoice. Though risky it was a blessing that the unit came with their name, otherwise i would have paid hefty storage fine

Eh? Did you say average is 19k? I have a car arrive at the port tomorrow and my agent gave me an estimate of 30k... His fee is 8k+VAT...
