Red plates have always been known to be abrasive on the road due to some 'superiority' they feel but there is an 'uprising' among the Kenyans now who are feeling they cannot stand the way they behave.

I love the positive action in this group. No hurling insults and what not, just sober minded people taking action into their own hands

Also pretty pissed after reading his story.
Diplomatic immunity should not be used to shield common criminals who abuse the laws in a host country. Diplomats should conduct themselves with some sense of decorum and not drive around with that "better than thou" attitude towards locals and other people in their host country.

How does one start the process of requesting for a waiver of immunity for purposes of prosecuting a law breaker? I hope this case will not go away until the mission and the b@%# do the right thing.

Sad tale. But remember this is a single story and there is always the danger of a single story.

Red, blue, black, White, Yellow, GK, KM or green plate, you must realise that anyone who drives does that as an individual and therefore the actions of one lady in a red plated car should not be used to cast a whole community into disrepute. Many of those red plate cars are usually in the hands of Kenyans employed by the missions or inter governmental organisations.

Just like there are matatu drivers who will display a rare show of courtesy and care for his/ her passengers and other road users, there is bound to be a diplomatic community member who is bound to display extreme levels of mental instability on the roads-besides alcohol and other substance abuse is not altogether to be ruled out.

We should deal with these cases on a case by case basis.

@Spendthrift, if you check what the Facebook group is doing, it is just that. Treating it as a one off case, and being civil about it.

Whereas the drivers take personal responsibility, just like company drivers, the organizations they represent should also take responsibility.

In any case, the truth is that these red plates have harassed many of us on the roads, its just that we do not quite speak or act and in this case it was extreme. That said, this is one case being dealt with as that. One case.

@Guka, I think the PM's email would be helpful in this case. The embassy collected the information but has not acted on anything else.

What I find amusing in this list (http://www.google.com/baraza/en/thread?tid=7b8f6f3ae2090136) is that Britain was the 22nd nation to recognise Kenya's independence... Quite telling, don't you think?

Nothing is real unless it can be named; nothing has value unless it can be sold; money is worthless unless you spend it.
