There are thousands of Kenyans doing diplomas from DALC centre located at 20th century and many more centres in Kenya.last week, the internet has been awash with mails saying it is a scam.the Cambridge and Oxford Association of managers connection is a hoax.

It is estimated they make 5 billion per year.

The twist of the story is that certs are printed right in Kenya and not UK like people have been made to believe.one fearless blooger has commited his time ti unearth this scam diplomacon.blogspot.com

but the dilemma is that we have a hin. Minister appearing on their website,so this is all very confusing.

Anyone out there with information?

Hey all,

I think DALC is the biggest scam ever.Last year i watched a documentary on tv about some students who wanted to sue DALC for being cheated that they would graduate at The Cambridge and Oxford universities.

My neighbour wanted to take a course there so she called Cambridge, called Oxford univeristy also. The two universities denied any relation with ANY center in East Africa leave alone DALC. The two univeristies therefore said anyone claiming to be offering any programmes on their behalf is a scammer. Not convinced, she called the Commission for Higher Education in Kenya. The official there said that DALC was not a commissioned center for higher education and that they were infact going to 'crack the whip on it'......well I dont know what cut since its been nearly 2years since that day.

The documentary i watched said that there was an organization called The Cambridge and Oxford Association of Managers in UK registered.....but this has no affiliation to the two mentioned renoun univeristies.

So unless im very wrong......i think DALC is the longest and best run con business in Kenya.....

There is no way because i am in one of the DALC centre hence my concern. This is dubious.last year tuition was 9k per month but since Nov. they slashed it to 6500........Oborah says he got 'patners to fund' it

I was told there is no university in kenya that will allow me to transfer my credits, oborah sayd he will not give out the names because his competators will spoil the deal

He says that one can transfer credits outside universities, but there is no link on the website to these universities

he says that student cards and certificates are printed in the UK,they are printed right in Kenya and come owth alot of mistakes.,mine being one of them

See below and help your friends who might want to join this school..........i have been beaten,i am trying to help osmeone before tehy get swindled of their money

Oborah, the owner of DALC,will soon figure out another dishonest explanation we come across the ICT prospectus on DALC's website where they say..

Examinations for this course are from Cambridge and are practical. The marking is usually done in Cambridge and candidates receive certificates from Cambridge (CAM).
Your certificate can only be valid if it is from Cambridge (CAM) and bears the Quality Assurance Commission of UK (QAC-UK) seal which validates it and is on Cambridge CAM letterhead.

Before Humphrey (the owner of DALC) and his band of liars changes this, download your advanced business management prospectus from the DALC website and find out what it says about the Quality Assurance Commision. Apparently, the QAC has accredits the CAM diplomas. The prospectus says..

All qualifications that are recognized by Cambridge,CAM (UK) are also accredited by Qualifications Assurance Commission (QAC - UK) through APEL credit transfer system. QAC is UK's qualifications accrediting body. DALC is registered by Cambridge,CAM,as an overseas teaching centre and has chosen the credit transfer system.

We need to petition the minister and have him explain on what grounds DALC is awarding diplomas from unaccredited institutions that are registered as private companies in the UK. Does he know that the DALC people are fleecing Kenyans 500,000,000 every year with this scam?

can anybody link me with some investigative journalists?

@ famooz,

Inasmuch as there could be something going on in that college,I'm just wondering what your motivation to nail them is...... You have put up such a spirited campaign,I mean, what with seven out of eleven contributions of your own post...share please..

There is a saying bout ignorance not being an excuse, and in that note I totally agree with Famooz,I can imagine a parent na mashida zake zote trying to educate his kid anang'ang'ana,kulipa/swindled by a bogus college.

We need scrutinity on behalf of our parents,brothers/sisters.

Im keenly watching this space, having once worked with the Oborah dude.

been there and trust me I'd rather summit my money than waste it at DALC,but thats me. beef yangu ni personal.

So what will the certificate do for you?..i thought u went there to learn n how to apply what u learnt to your own life? I'm yet to pick my degree cert from 4years ago...simple reason...i didn't want to be employed..and with the twists and turns of life have been so temptin to get a job until a remember i don't hav the cert n hav to stick out in business to make it work. Can't u use what u'v learnt to empower ur self? A cert..accredited even is just a rubberstamp on ur forehead!

I think I understand your pain, but realize like jammo said you can not put a price to knowledge, one, and secondly taking on these people may not benefit you in any way especially if they are moneyed as you say they are. If I were you I would cut my losses and move on. Life is too short to be spent on losing battles.Trust me,people here will only apply cautionary attitude when it comes to this institution but will hardly be enjoined in this battle. Besides, even if DALC were to be taken down,no direct gain will accrue to you.Good luck to you though.

...i gues i have missed the point then.

-but i'm sure it would do u good to realise that compared to our crapy educ system that pays no regard to individual talent/giftin/passion and was tailored back in the 50s and 60s when intermediate education made u the brightest in the village..i'd rather dalc any given day.. Kenya's literacy level is pegged at 64%...while british..who's system we copy pasted..hav a 42%literacy level... Kenyans are done too educated..unfortunately for jobs that won't be available in this or next decade. Dalc is usin a formula around makin what you kno work around who u are...n not givin u more 'education' at that... Stop choosin education over learnin! Coz its what you learn..formal or not that will put food in your table. Out of a class of 215business management graduates...38 are employed in a business management capacity.
