How many people think that the wrestling shows on tv are real and not just acting? I can't believe i got into a heated debate with my brother in law who's kindu 30 years old and he believes that the fights are real. I thought only young kids believe this. Are there other grown men and women who actually think the same way?

Wrestling is what you would call a performance sport. It's more of theatre than sport. Is it real? Well depends, they will wrestle alright, but the props they use are never meant to incur fatalities. They use a script to make it interesting and also what you call Kayfabe. (Google it). The wrestlers are highly trained professionals who use mock combat and catch wrestling. They are stunt men as well and reality is emphasized by camera angles. But they do also get hurt as well. Any stunt man can attest to that.

First note that to some people here, 30yr olds are young people.

2nd follow the advice above to educate him.

3rd educate yourself on how to avoid such debates; I don't want to imagine the time you lost for swallowing a few more summits in that useless debate!!

Lastly it doesn't matter who was right coz that debate could have not benefited anyone, whatever the outcome; still time lost!! shit!! am also wasting more time here!!

@shak, usijali atajua tu...it takes time to accept - i accepted while in High school many years ago - I did not want to believe it... but the reality is that wrestling is ENTERTAINMENT, specially choreographed entertainment....anyone who believes otherwise is in denial...notice the drama the plotting before cameras (in private like a soap opera) pleaase... yani people don't look closely? all those moves are like poetry... they have rhythm. p.s. the 'DDT' is no longer as 'powerful' as when Jake 'the snake' roberts executed it. the 'power bomb' is no longer as lethal as when Sid Justice executed it..
