Onslaught at NSE continues as stocks keep in the red with many counters-around 10-recording or breaking their 12 month lows. All-share index moving toward 3900 mark.

They say buy when there is blood on the street....but who is brave enough to jump into this bourse right now?Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad

I thought the whole idea about stocks was to buy when it has hit the fan and it can't get any worse-using money you can afford to loose then sell when it's unreasonably high when everybody is waiting to see just how much higher it can go.

I agree, selling was expected as we head towards the unstable times. But, isnt it too early, if the ellections are to be held in august then we are offloading 12 months earlier?! Some things are not adding up here.

you are talking of the bourse going down and then regaining at the end of the monthh, what will lead to the mimi-bull...

Just trying to psyche up...anyway...if we have started the bear we have options to exit now and buy when the shares are very low... In this way, you will be able to buy many shares compared to what you are holding right now. take a close look on daily highs and lows of each counter so that we come up with an exit strategy...

Furthermore, I am more concerned about the out-come @ICC this September than elections in Aug. Real game changer either up or down!! (inabidi unakaa sober nani...)

FYI the stocks can only dip to a certain level after which they can only stabilise, with or without the elections, and then we will see volumes and trades thin.
Those who monitored the trend in 2002 particularly in the run up to the elections will agree with me the stocks only dropped in the 1st 9 months after which the prices bottomed out albeit with thin trades from October into the new dispensation.
So i agree with @cde, the game changer could as well be the ICC. On the constitution, i like the fact that the boundaries commision has been signed into law. On the economy, oil prices are showing signs of topping off and Q4 will definitely be better than Q3, atleast coz of the rains.
The herd mentality is at play here. Everyone will rush to sell coz of elections. We'll end up selling at the same time and after that, the prices will again stage a comeback. We will then again buy at the same time, probably at even higher prices than we exited at.
If u intend to sell, i wonder what u r waiting for, take @QWs advice. If u have some cash, u r one lucky guy, jus stock up and like the crocodiles, wait to take the plunge as the "wilderbeasts " migrates in droves!

AK looking good at these prices....bt H1 results are around the corner....wonder if they will have 'one-off adjustments' that will lead to more losses?

Well said! I for one do not think that we will have a bear until the elections. But bearish sentiment can also be a godsend to get some shares at a bargain.

Even with the "bear", money has been made in Uchumi & KK in the recent past. Of course guys have also seen losses in portfolios with a buy and hold strategy...but that's the market for you.

I've been watching Jubilee slump slowly and the temptation to grab a chunk is so tempting.

Cash, patience and timing is key now, but i think theres some money to be made in the upcoming Britak IPO, good counters might be sold at silver prices for Gold.

I was at D&B today, I was very surprised to hear they haven't received the Britak or Bank of Kigali prospectus. It's a shame for D&B considering it's owner, Jimnah Mbaru is the largest Britak individual shareholder with 20%. Does he know that this IPO starts on Tuesday?

BBI will solve it
