If your daughter keeps getting 470/500 in her primary school exams would you tell her to slow down and enjoy life more? Maybe.

If Messi scored 4 goals in the first half of a game would his coach tell him to stop? Maybe.

If Jelimo broke the world record for whatever race she does, would we (Kenyans) want to tell her to stop waking up at 3.30am? Maybe.

If your boss tripled your salary annually for 5yrs running, would you tell him to slow down? Maybe.

"Maybe means maybe not" - MUTULA KILONZO

When we achieve a certain level of success, money ceases to be about NEEDS and becomes a way of keeping score...

In some of the above questions we will say yes, some we will say no... its an individual choice.

We need to know in which race we are running. Whatever is worth doing is worth doing well.

I spend less money than I make: Its mainly not because I expect a rainy day, and also not to leave my children "something". I wanna be rich.

Anyone who doesn't agree with me is clearly not in the money game... same way I'm not in Raila's (or Mother Theresa's) game... we all have our values / motivators / milestones / successes.
"I'd rather be lucky than clever... every time!" - ME
"The problem is not what we don't know... it's what we know for sure that just ain't!" - MARK TWAIN
"Space we can recover... time never!" - NAPOLEON BONAPARTE

I view money as the answer to a sum. I think my time is better spent trying to construct the formula than looking for the answer booklet.

Whom would you rather listen to, if say both were giving speeches in diffent rooms, a school drop out that is now rich or a phd holder that is poor?

Money is surely not everything, but can surely buy good gifts.

I would go for the school drop-out, if he has made it where the phd holder has failed then he has what it takes its worth my time to listen to him...
Ceinz Lets be practical between Njenga karume and the scholar with 7 degrees and a phd who wanted to be president(forgotten his name) whom would you run to listen to?

Of course Karume; he has more money, so he has more freedom, more choice, more options, more influence, more more more.

Separately, is money the "root of all evil?"

Money is not the 'root of all evil' ,it is 'the love of money'...
