I have not used my 3G+ Orange modem for a while, having opted to use the MBs I had left on my SCOM modem. Today, I bought a 4GB bundle and I was really dissapointed with the speed. Is it just me or are others experiencing similar dismay?

I don't know why it has become soooooo sloooow these days. Very disappointing!

And to add insult to injury, the speedtest result says that my internet speed is slower than 92% of Kenya. Ridiculous!

Wow, what an eye opener! After my frustrations this morning, I resorted to the more expensive bundle from Safcom which is a much better experience, but of course harder on the pocket. Well, cheap is usually not so good...

BTW, anyone with experience on the dirt cheap Airtel offers, what are the speeds like?

I've not tried Airtel but after unlocking my modem I bought YU's 30 days unlimited bundle (999/-) and speeds average at 10KB/s and max out at 30KB/s. It's alright for general browsing but your average youtube video will take about 10min+ to download.

>>>Is it correct to say downloading you tube or it's streaming? Not sure.

There was a cut on the Seacom cable in Alexandria on 17th March. Not sure if that could be to blame.

tortoise speeds. i wonder what they do with all that bandwith, seacom & EASSy)
thats why i stick with Kdn. i get speeds of 2.5 MBps on downloads and all for a fraction of what Orange charges monthly for fake 3G speeds...
If i showed you where i live, you would think that i was hiding.
