10% Rule is removed when a company make 'material announcement' The emphasis is on ANNOUNCEMENT!
Now; EQTY made its announcement regarding the split a long time ago,and that's when the 10% rule was removed....for one day only.
The rule will NOT be relaxed today since the company has NOT made any material announcement!!!!!
@etela: the rule says that the price of a share shall not fluctuate by more than 10% on any trading day....unless the company has made a material announcement. (e.g.,financial report, profit warning, intention to buy a competitor etc)
Nothing is real unless it can be named; nothing has value unless it can be sold; money is worthless unless you spend it.
