In 1999, Deloitte & Touche and The Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) conducted a worldwide study of several aspects of e-commerce with specific emphasis on the security measures to be enforced. This study included personal interviews and written survey responses form audit and information professionals in over 40 countries.
According to the study, websites generally use several overlapping measures, which include:
• Virus scanning following the spate of virus attacks in 1999
• Firewalls to prevent unwanted intrusions
• Password authentication
• Intrusion detection
• Secure socket layer (SSL) encryption
The security issues have four aspects, although they are extremely complex. But, they are highly necessary to protect the investor's interest from 'hackers' or 'intruders' or 'cyber squatters'. The main aspects to be considered with respect to security includes,
• Client-server security
• Firewall and Database security
• Client Information and Message security: Encryption
• Communicate information stealthily

When properly managed, commodity trading is a lucrative business and with the emergence of immense opportunities around the globe due to the opening up of new markets, there are many adherents for it. Thus, are the present studies exhaustive and can we rest after implementing a few secured lines as recommended by an expert? No. Why? Because, newer threats are emerging continuously and we need to keep track of it.
