Looks like the directors are pulling a nice trick to cause the share price to fall..... Even with their good results They've paid a 1 bob dividend which the current share price cannot definitely support and all because they want to give us bonus shares at the end of the year..... I'm already counting my losses and i will sell if it falls to 175bob...

1H 2010 EPS WAS KSHS.8.02. and yes they do make more money at the end of the year as many of their associates do full year results and not half year eg PDM, Farmers etc

Yep its always like that...

2007 HY=4.05 FY= 13.71
2008 HY=5.34 FY= 14.14
2009 HY=5.38 FY= 18.33
2010 HY=8.02 FY=?

FY2010 EPS, My bet is on Kshs. 24 because FY/HY normally gives u a multiple of 3. I know its a crude way of estimating EPS but it works..gives u a good estimate

@horton, optimism not really misplaced, we expect a full years' stream from that fibre cable, not to mention stash from the Bujagaali (sp) hydro.

Jameni... Jubilee has ALWAYS been conservative... they are like Kenya's Berkshire Hathaway... they re-invest in other projects...

Jubilee needs cash to re-invest in TPSEA Rights + other new investments...

Jubilee has a large stake in DTBK as well so if they need cash, Jubilee will be ready! Also new subsidiaries in Africa...

Guys,

Are these profits from the revaluation of the stocks they hold? If they have invested in the stock market, the same shares must have lost value at some point and are now on the rebound. if this the case, dividends are being paid from the normal running of their business and not appreciation of their assets

Well, then never buy Berkshire Hathaway run by the legendary Warren Buffett... BH pays ZERO dividends...

Absolutely correct. No one would be buying Equity if dividends was what they would be looking for. Every would be all over total, kcb and even Kenya Re.
