Started of by giving up the parliamentary system in Naivasha and now by putting himself 'above' the competition with KM for the Chaimanship of a house committee. He is therefore, more accomodating than Kibs. My definition as a statesman. He can then concentrate on the bigger picture. I bet the next step for him will be to let Kibera Goby 2012 I care!

mandela, lincoln and nyerere are statesmen.but calling RAO a statesman,is the oxymoron of the week forget the strategy.his ambition is to be Fabregas when he grows up. 'hata ikirudiwa nitapiga NO' if you aint livin on the edge, you are taking too much space....

If he's not, then we have no statesman/woman in Kenya. Anybody commanding the type of following he has and is able to accomodate other opposing political views like he has in the last few months, then he is. Just imagine if he did not change, do you think peace would have returned in Feb 08 and the referendum peaceful as it was? I care!

ati he accomodates other oppossing political views?he only does so when he's cornered.flashback 1994 ford kenya elections wamalwa beat him as party chair and he left for NDP,me thinks you cant be a good leader unless you are gracious enough to be led by others. On commanding a huge following, even Hitler had even greater following and was democratically elected. 'hata ikirudiwa nitapiga NO'. if you aint livin on the edge, you are taking too much space....

...RAO is applying the 48 laws of power as he has his mind set for the presidency ....LAW 1 - Never outshine your master. He has realised that he is stealing the show. Backing down abit is just a control check!!!

He is no statesman he's just playing 2012 politics....Kibaki will not be a threat so why fight him. I would really respect him as a politician if he retires with MK.

He doesn't need your respect, he's heading straight for presidency. PEV broke out! am I to give MK respect if he stepped aside for a controversial election? c'mon!!!!

These bastards don't care about the new Constitution...MK is all concerned about his legacy while the rest have their eyes fixed on 2012. Ruto is probably the happiest politician post-referendum

There's never any need of facing RAO in his matches.. you simply let him play with little resistance (thats when he gets conceited and fumbles...)
the only way to deal with the guy is to wait for him at the final end... you either shift the goal post, flatly refuse the goal, or shift the finish line further(incase of a race) every time he gets to the end...
this is a classical example of playing to the galary and the audience will surely join in..to the disappointment of rivals.

Thios only happens in Kenya!!! You create a mess unnecessarily, - somewhere down the line, after so much damage has been done, you purport to clean it up/retract - and voila you are a Statesman! Ok I get it! Isuni yilu yi maa me muyo - ni Mbisuu

Rao is changing the rules of the game. he seems to have learnt from his past mistakes and is always innovative, a step a head of the competition. Arap Ruto is Rao's student, using old notes of Rao. well, Kenya needs crafty leaders like Rao to prevent the museveni's of east africa from grabbing our land again.
