Wow... far higher than I expected... I expect to see lots of large 'foreign' shareholders...

Good for KCB but I expect lots of Sellers as well... I have better places/shares to invest my money in...

None of the other banks are standing still... especially not Equity Bank which has captured the 'low end' of the market...

Then the 'high end or Corporates' are catered for by Barclays, SCBK, Citibank, etc...

And the middle market has NIC, I&M, DTBK, Prime...

So can KCB compete in all 3 segments?

@VVS don't forget KCB has the largest presence in east africa among the kenyan banks...

And whats more is that its subsidiaries had broken even by end of H1 2010 while equity's are still in losses...

I'm treating KCB like a three year bond that yields 5.5% p.a plus capital gains...

LOLest... KCB should have invested in/with TransCentury... BTW, in 1997 moi's buddies were trying to rip off KCB as much as possible...

If its a reaction coz of the rights it shld b goin up coz the rights were a 'success' . Its a correction. And NEVER argue w/ the market. As a matter of fact i expectd the correction.

Do you still believe it was a correction? Look at today's demand vis a vis supply. We are headed the 20s

@Pk.Fine u seem to be arguing with the market and u will get hurt.....Smart money nows that the price will come down hence they are waiting....and if this is a reaction because of the rights uptake also expect a reaction once the rights start trading....
And the law of supply and demand has to apply...I am expecting low prices and thats that...aiiiiiight ???

@qw25041985

Thanks. Let us wait for the additional shares to be traded. Since most of the rights were taken up by institutional investors, I doubt if we will see any price depreciation.

For KCB the would be sellers already sold when the bank announced issuance of rights and subsequent pricing. Most of the buyers for the rights were institutional investors and I believe they have no intention of selling now. I doubt if KCB will trade below 19, if it does, it will be temporary

Interesting projection. You may be correct on KQ and Equity (over heated). The rest I doubt. KCB will not drop to 18.5, retail investors like are waiting for it!

Granted Eqty and DTBK are present regionally albeit to a lesser extent in terms of spread, but do they have similar financial muscle?? e.g If DTBK lost 2B triton style, wouldn't it wind up????

Weekly predictions are no relevance to me. Its not like i will jump in and out of a stock in a week.
