This is very probable. I have heard of crimes with a slight variation on this. For example, there are these guys who will pretend to be passing by your car in the CBD when there is a slight jam and all over sudden one pulls a gun on you - mostly hidden using a newspaper, envelope or something - and orders you to open the doors - using the central locking. When you do, fellow 'passers by' get into your car and your nightmare begins. It's done so fast and discretely that no one notices a crime is in progress! Most of them will steal everything you have in the car, take your ATM cards and force you to reveal the pin numbers. One of them alights a goes withdraw your money as the rest of you are driving around town. If the pin(s) turn(s) out to be fake, you are done. If the balance in the account is sizable, then they detain you till mid-night or for some days!! Otherwise they'll just alight somewhere and let you go!
There was a story on the Nation some months ago of a guy who was robbed this way - by women!!! Luckily they were somehow arrested in the act and even their pictures were on the paper!
It was not called
Nairoberry for no reason!
Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.
