Truth be told a white man on an expensive bike will lose 3 things
(a) his phone
(b) his money
(c) his bike

My advice?
(a)Get yo'self a black mamba (local bike brand worth about 40$)
(b) a kabambe (that's like the cheapest mobile phone in the market) and
(c) travel penniless (don't even think about a credit/debit card).

Once the locals mug you a coupla times, they'll figure out it ain't worth it...and you can cycle your heart out.
