Ruto aende wapi? It mean that whoever voted NO pia aende. Thats the mentality that gave birth to the PEV - that if you are on the opposite side, you are doomed!!! Ati if huzzy voted NO and wife YES, the guy must now "lie-low-like-an-envelop"! Akaliwe!!!

Come, on! Get a life, grow up and live in a new Kenya!

The constitution is not for the government...its for all people. there are over 2 million people who did not want it. So what should happen to them? its Idiocy to disintegrate this to a matter of Moi or Ruto, its our future we are talking about.

If we start talking about sacking the no proponents we may have a bad backlash! If they feel they cannot serve with the new constitution let them make that decision.I think its a moral issue.

Where is Ruto by the way? And Moi?

@masukuma
I think it would be difficult to speak about No without seeing those two flash infront of your eyes just as it is to speak about the win of a new constitution without seeing kibaki and raira as much as it is us, the wananchi who have won... Same as speaking about the success of safaricom without seeing MJ and there is nothing wrong with that... prob comes in when we start attacking each other over the issue. And lets face the facts, majority of the fence-sitters fell on the YES side because of these two.

Hapo umedin*a point!
WR should resign from govt and head the opposition... Implementation of the new constitution will be very difficult as is spans up to about 5 years for full implementation. WR can poke holes whenever things go wrong and in return he will gain political mileage (I-told-you-so attitude)

Ruto is a politician. I think he was testing the water to gauge his influence. I even doubt if he voted 'NO'.
Anyway I quote Ruto's words to Central Province after the 2005 referendum and ask him to use now take and preach his own advice; "North Rift, do not isolate yourselves from the rest of the nation".

BBI will solve it

my prediction - unless ocampo can develop a serious case (had a recent one thrown out) and also win over the AU, ruto will be the most sought after politician in the 2012 elections.

reason - the 4M yes votes has at least 6 'presidents' to thank. the 2M no vote has a max of 2 'presidents'.

Ruto must be smiling wherever he is

As the political leader of the NO side he will claim that the 33% RED vote was by his supporters thus becoming a big-time kingmaker in 2012

Over to u ocampo

Forget Ruto forget Moi and the whole lot and caboodle.

Those in NO and those in Yes were only diveded by one thing:
If to do the amendedments pre or post referundum.
No lesser a person than Kibaki himself said this.
The YES have their way - but they need to work together to effect the necessary amendments.

Those vilifying the Reds are participating in USHENZI.Did we vote in a new constitution so that we can opress others?

It's time for UNGWANA.We move forward as one nation making necessary amendments while knowing too well that we can't make 100% acceptable document.Unless we are a dictatorship

I'm siding with Kadonye on this one.

My hope is that once this new constitution is in place, we will have less government in the life of the Kenyan citizen (ningeomba serekali...). If this is achieved, then whether Ruto can deliver 33% of the votes will not be as significant as before since resource allocation will be guaranteed and segments of the population will not be marginalized with the "when funds are available" refrain that was common during the Moi presidency.

In the end, wealth creation is normally the domain of private enterprise and not government.

hate to burst your bliss bubble buddy but:

politics 101 (new or old constitution)

politician + need to marshal voters = popularity contest

unless of course, the politician(s) you are referring to descended from the clouds riding on a white unicorn amidst thunderous shouts of hallelujah.

Please stop the insults. When democracy wins everybody wins. I agree with you though that 33% is a significant figure and cannot be ignored and I believe that Kenyans are now more than ever before ready to deal with issues more soberly. Today I'm proud to be Kenyan.
