Kenya being a Toyota country, It is very easy to sell quickly a stolen Toyota. Toyotas are also easily modified here in Kenya than any other Make. Take for instance a Toyota 110 being modified to a Subaru look-alike within few hours. All in all, it is still the best car to have in Kenya considering the availability and affordability of spare parts, and the resale value.

Subaru is a good make to keep. However, the spareparts are hard to find especially outside Nairobi. If you breakdown in Busia, Kitale, Isiolo or elsewhere, you may need to send for spares in Nairobi, and sometimes forced to import them. Subaru spares are generally more expensive but also genuine. These are some things you need to consider. Just talk to some qualified mechs and you will be able to weigh the pros and cons.

Nowadays carjackers find it alot easier to steal a car when the owner is inside.

Not soo sure about all the above...
It all depends on what parts of the country/town u will be residing and crisscrossing...

A subaru- No resale value, spareparts is a major problem
Nissans - no reslae value
Toyatas- the best, but exposen you to conning/robbery/carjacking etc( but depends on where you will be residing and where you will be conducting your business and what time of the night/date)

as i was once asked..unanua gari iliuweke kwa garage ama unanua kutembelea/kuuza? if so, why give a hoot about the spare parts? Its akin to buying 4 litre engined car and worrying about fuel costs (or emission depending where u are)..as they say, any car can sale...all depends on the sales person..
