At the time of the 75k deal,there were bids above 47!.With little supply above that on the normal board.

Kenya was the only sector that had a decrease but these are short flights + lotsa competition + better roads...

I think if EAC flights can get rid of crazy fees e.g. Entebbe airport or Dar... & can be considered 'local' flights then we can see a HUGE jump in flights!

Hopefully... by the time @the deal [who flew on KQ to Joburg as I understand] returns... it will be 65/-

2Q does not look bad except for the slight fall-off leading to the referendum but will there be violence... Shame on you that is key! [And why @the deal ran away to his mama & baba Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly ]

True @vvs, making EBB and DAR local will make flights cheaper for travellers but will those states agree to let KQ have more frequencies while they don't even have national airlines?

Well, I think the KQ stock is bound to be on the upward. EBB and Dar being seen as domestic flights-not easy. Actually not likely given the half stepping on the part of Kenya's neighbours save for Rwanda. But the regional expansion strategy is quite ambitios and appealing especially for intercontinental travelers (multi-nationals etc) who want seamless intra-african connection on a reliable (read Safe to fly) airline. The long haul business looks good given that the dreamliner may be ready for scheduled flights before end 2011, although the final 787 may be less economical than what KQ knew whan they placed their initial orders.

It is very likely that the referndum will be uneventful and the result will be favorable to business. It is likely for KQ to return to the 3 digits before the turn of 2011.

@youcan'tstopusnow

Thanks for your observations. This means Ethiopian Airline will continue leading us? I expected the KQs venture to US to uplift the share back to its 100s!

KQ has good potential only worry is delays and flight cancellations on non technical reasons. If they work around this, profits will overflow

This rise must be due to the info passed that flight hours increased by 22% in the world cup month..
